Arrtx has a colored pencil set of 72 colored pencils that compete well with Prismacolor because they are creamy, blend well, create a smooth effect at a great cost. The only upside to spending more money on Prismacolor was that they came in more colors.

But now, Arrtx has released their 126 Colored Pencil Set!

They come with the original 72 colors and add in tons of mid tones, making it even easier to create blended effects.

As a beginner, I love how easy these pencils are to use to color in stamped images.

And as a fan of bright colors I love the options that are available in this set.

If you love the look of acrylic markers but did not want to spend a ton of money to try them out, you need to see the Arrtx 30 Acrylic Marker set.

These acrylic markers are bright and opaque and work well on light and dark color cardstock. The 30 colors are a full set with several tones of each color.

You can use acrylic markers on a variety of surfaces.

These markers pop on black cardstock.

But they also work well on acetate so you can use them on shaker windows.

You do not need to spend a fortune to get a fabulous set of colored pencils for cardmaking! Today I am trying out the Arrtx 72 Colored Pencil Set and let me tell you, they are as smooth and creamy as Prismacolor, they blend beautifully and I sharpened them all and none had broken cores!

The first thing I do when I get a new medium or set is to swatch them out. I was so happy with all the bright colors that came in this set:

Next I tried a few cardmaking techniques that I enjoy doing with colored pencils, like no line coloring.

I also tried using different pressure on tiny images like this Kitchen Shelf Background Stamp from hero Arts.

I LOVE them! They are super juicy, come in great colors and make it really easy for beginners to color in stamped images for cards.
