Layered Background Stamp Distress Oxide Resist

This week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is an Anything Goes challenge using Stampendous products. Sadly, I don't have any Stampendous stamps, but I do have some Fine Detail Clear Embossing powder from Stampendous! So I decided to try out a layered background stamp technique.
First I stamped and heat embossed a background with clear embossing powder. For the first embossed image I used a script or text background.
Next, I stamped an heat embossed an image background. I chose images with large bits of white space so you would be able to see the text in those openings. I used Black Versafine ink and clear embossing powder for one and clear embossing ink with silver embossing powder for the other.
Once both layers of heat embossing were cool, I used Distress Oxides to watercolor over. Watching the double backgrounds come to life was so fun! Check out the technique and both cards in this video:

If you are interested in the products I used, they are all linked down below! Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolor Resist with Simon Says Stamp Kit

This week, the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is Resist It. I decided to use the February Simon Says Stamp Kit A Colorful Crafty Life to create a stamped heat embossed watercolor resist.
The kit actually comes with a Daniel Smith watercolor palette and a waterbrush so I used those to watercolor over a stamped and heat embossed image for my resist.
If you would like to see how I created this card, check out my video here:
