Hey everyone! Today I am sharing some easy foiling techniques AND sharing the brand new Therm O Web Fairy Tales Deco Foil Colors. These colors are fresh and beautiful and look great on a variety of cards!
I am sharing ways to apply foil without any special tools like a laminator or die cut machine!
Then I share how to use a stencil to create a multi colored foiled background!
Next, I'll share how I use Blanco Gel to apply foil on colored cardstock.
And last, but not least, I share a couple of cards made with the Therm O Web Toner Fronts.
You do need a laminator for this technique, but this is a great technique that does not require dry time of a gel!
Check out the video to see the new colors of foils and all my foiling techniques!
This month, the Therm O Web Design team was invited to take part in the CSI scrappbook challenge! The "case file" has so much inspiration from colors to use to patterns and even recommended a grid design.
I love a good challenge and created this layout to go along with it!
One of the elements of the challenge was to include stripes. I decided to use the Therm O Web Distressed Lines Clear Toner Sheets and cover them with Jade and Denim foils (everything will be linked down below if you are curious!).
I also used the adorable Simple Stories line Hello Summer.
If you want to see how I created the foiled window panels on this layout, check out my video on the Therm O Web YouTube Channel here:
Everything I used is listed below! Thanks for stopping by!
I have a clean and simple Christmas card up on the Therm O Web blog today! It would be very easy to mass produce, but it packs a punch with all the glittery shine!
I also have a video on Therm O Web's YouTube channel that shows how easy it is to put this card together using the brand new Gina K. Designs for Therm O Web holiday products including the Fancy Foils, Foilmates and dies! If you want to check out the products I used, they are all listed below!
I've always been fascinated with Triptych paintings. You know when an image is broken into three canvases or panels? I love the rest your eye gets by the margin and the contrast between a continual image broken up by white space. I thought it would be fun to create the same idea on a card front.
I used Therm O Web's Deco Foil Transfer Gel and The Crafter's Workshop stencils to create the backgrounds. I also used Rebekah Meier's Mixed Media line for Therm O Web.
I die cut the Rebekah Meier Art Paper into 3 rectangles with the Therm O Web Gina K. dies.
After adding the Rebekah Meier foils to the sentiment and panels, I also colored the panels with Gina K Designs for Therm O Web Dye Inks.
I created a video for Therm O Web where I show how I created both of these cards! You can check it out here:
I was up on the Therm O Web blog recently using quilt blocks as inspiration for cards. Check out the pretty quilt blocks:
I was inspired by the butterflies and stitched blocks to create some of my own butterfly and quilted looking cards.
First, I die cut the butterflies from Therm O Web Toner Sheets using my Silhouette Cameo. Then I foiled the butterflies with Therm O Web Deco Foils and a laminator. Next, I adhered the die cut butterflies to acetate and cut around the outside. Then I colored in the open spaces with Copic markers to create a stained glass effect.
To create the card background I grabbed 6x6 patterned paper and adhered the middle of one corner to a 4.25x5x5 card panel. I continued to adhered corners of different patterned papers down, making sure not to put adhesive on any of the edges. Once the whole card panel was covered, I trimmed off the excess by flipping the panel over and then machine stitched along the lines to give the background a quilted effect.
I combined stamping and die cutting to create my sentiments.
I created a video for Therm O Web where I show how to create the stained glass butterflies, quilted backgrounds and put the card together. You can check it out here:
