Scrapbook Circle Take 2 - For the Love of Circles

I love circles. One of my favorite ways to design a layout is to cut out circles and place them in a grid format. I started with the Pink Fresh Studio patterned paper found in last month's kit. Some of the circles I punched out. Then I layered some punched out circles over other circles using 3 dimensional adhesive.

I had so much filling in the circles with photos, stickers and other embellishments that I decided to do a similar layout this month.

For this month's layout, I used April's kit Let's Do This and started with a striped piece of paper, which led to the decision of how to create my circles. I decided to cut them out with the Silhouette Cameo. I backed the cut patterned paper with black cardstock. Next I punched smaller circles from patterned paper . Then comes the fun of embellishing! Stickers and die cuts are an easy choice!

The Heidi Swapp frames and Pink Fresh Studio die cuts from the Add On This Way, added glittery and shiny touches.IMG_2851

I decided that the design of circles went perfectly with the theme of doughnuts so I also cut a doughnut shape with the Silhouette. The sequins made perfect, yummy looking sprinkles and the mini alphas were easily places in an arc for the title.IMG_2853
Take 2 is one of my favorite blog series because I love looking at an old design with fresh eyes and coming up with a new way to use it!

Scrapbook Circle - Stamping on Layouts

Does stamping on a layout give you anxiety? I used to get chills thinking about how to incorporate stamps into layouts. If you are a bit of a perfectionist, you probably understand what I am saying. ;) But then I realized that the stamping I like in other people's layouts is rarely perfect. And it is the imperfections that give the layout I fun, artistic effect. So no more white knuckle stamping! Just start finding ways to work them in.  I loved the little Elle's Studio stamp set included in this month's kit. Here is an easy way to incorporate one stamp into a layout.

Since there was lots of white space I had plenty of room to add the You Are stamp. The mini alpha stickers fit right on top of the dotted line!

This bit of stamping from the same set was a bit trickier.

You can see I stamped the hello stamp right over a part of the collage. Part of the word is on the background cardstock, part is on a die cut heart and part is on a 3x4 card. Honestly, I did not do a great job stamping on all the different height levels, but the bit of smudge actually adds to the collage-feel! No stress, just let it go and get inky!

Simple Stories and Becky Fleck's PageMaps

Hi everyone! Rebecca Keppel here! I had the pleasure of working with 2 of Becky Fleck's fabulous PageMaps April sketches. I love designing with Becky's sketches because she makes it really simple to pull together a well designed layout. I started with this 12x12 sketch featuring two 3x4 photos:
Since my photos had a horizontal rather than vertical orientation, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the left and came up with this layout using Simple Stories Say Cheese II collection.

I loved layering the various patterned papers and the embellishment placement and circular title spot.
The next sketch I used had more small photos:
This time I stayed very true to the sketch.
I used Simple Stories SN@P and Enchanted collections. The Enchanted Chipboard frames were perfect to highlight all the mini photos.
If you love Simple Stories collections, you will love playing with PageMaps because Becky includes tons of fun embellishments and layers in her sketches.
