Catching Up and BIG Giveaway!!!

What a whirlwind! This year has started off crazy busy! I was in CHA for 5 days. It was a blast. There was so much new fun stuff to see. I am going to try and do a Flipogram in my instagram feed with  lots of my favorites.

Thinking about lots of fun new things that may have to make their way into my studio means I need to clear some room! Which means a giveaway! This is what I have right now, but I have more cleaning up to do so I will continue to stuff whatever I can in a priority box.
Some stuff is partly used and some is full unopened packages! Did you see the Heidi Swapp Color Shine mists? Full unopened bottles! (I just happened to have doubles!) If you want to win this big goodies bag follow my blog and leave a comment telling me you did or already do. I will leave this open until Friday January 24. Good luck!

I also wanted to share my Scrapbook Circle layout for THIS Challenge. The challenge is to make a layout inspired by a love song. Use it in the title or journaling or whatever you want! Here is mine:
I used the One Republic song for my title and journaling. The Studio Calico cards worked in perfectly to the title!
Hope 2014 has been treating you right so far!

Simple Stories Smarty Pants

I simply adore the new Simple Stories line Smarty Pants. And with school gearing up for us in another week this collection came at just the right time! I had so much fun taking photos of my kids last year with chalkboards and their grades and only hope they will cooperate yet again!
Of course the patterned papers are fabulous, but I adore the goodies from the Smarty Pants collection - chipboard, stickers and brads OH MY!

And dont forget about the SN@P embellishments! Many of them can be worked right into the new collections just like this chipboard speech bubble.
The Smarty Pants collection is going to be perfect for thank you cards and teachers gifts too!

Supplies Used from the Smarty Pants Collection:
Fundamental Cardstock Stickers #3402
Chipboard #3428
Brads #3427
Take Note #3406

Big Belated Birthday Bash GIVEAWAY

THE GIVEAWAY
You all have been so patient and waited long enough. I have amassed a really fun collection of goodies (including a Hero Arts ink pad in Orange Soda (I LOVE this color I just have doubles), a Heidi Swapp Color Shine (again I have doubles) and lots more. I will send the whole package to one lucky duck. Just leave me a comment. You can leave a second comment if you decide to become a new follower of my blog or if you are already a follower you can tell me that in a second comment too. I will leave the comments open all week because I am going to CHA (!!!) and if I snag anything while I am there I will include that in the box too :)

Ok, on to Scrapbook Circle and the fabulous July Kit Let's Chat, which I had SO much fun with...
Do you ever say, "I am going to need to buy 2 pieces of that paper because both sides are fabulous!" I do. All the time. But what if you really only have one sheet?  How do you best maximize that one piece of paper? I usually start by finding which side I want to focus on. Here it was the sunburst side that I really wanted to use more. So I cut a slightly larger than 6 inch piece of that side.

After adhering that half onto cardstock, I flipped over my remaining piece of the patterned paper and started fussy cutting out the speech bubbles. I felt like a needed something in between the sunburst pattern and cardstock so I cut the edge off the Elle's Studio paper and it made a nice trim!  Then I layered the speech bubbles, stickers and Pink Paislee arrow. Finally I made the title by mixing the Thickers and Jillibean word sticker and adding some Jenni Bowlin rubons (anyone else LOVE those? They are like BUTTER)!

And voila! I got to use both sides of that awesome piece of patterned paper!

Back from CHA and Simple Stories

Phew! My first trip to CHA was a blast AND exhausting. There was SO much to see and so many wonderful friends to catch up with. I didnt get into Anaheim until Friday night so I was really only at the show for Saturday and a bit of Sunday. It was such a neat experience to see all the new products up close and personal and if you follow the Scrapbook Circle Instagram feed, you know we all had a great time hanging out :) Want to see some pictures? After designing for her several years ago, I finally got to meet the fabulous and super sweet Elle from Elle''s Studio. Her booth was so pretty and included in her new collections are 12x12 papers--YAY!
I've been a fan of Lily Bee for a while now and was excited to see some new embellishments from them:
I loved the new Webster's Pages line by Allison Kreft, Composition and Color.
Another one I really liked from this show was Fancy Pant's Park Bench (I dont know if I will ever be tired of this color combo, I just love it so :) )
And then we finally made it to the Simple Stories booth! Of course I had already seen images and worked with prototypes, but seeing the booth all put together and the samples, well it just plain made me happy. There is my layout in the middle:
and another here:
and here:
and even one more up here:
These photos do not do these lines just though. Seriously Simple Stories rocked it. This release included Vintage Bliss:

 The seriously awesome Urban Traveler...
and if I had to pick a favorite which I wont because I love them all, but if I absolutely had to, I would pick 24/7 and you are going to see me use it again and again and again because I cant gush about it enough!

Ok, so back to CHA...Loving the new Jillibean Soup Alphabeans--the font is super clean and the perfect size and width:
Heidi Swapp showed us all her new products and they are fantabulous especially the new clear tags with pop up elements (impossible to take a picture of, but so innovative). I also loved her new resist items like the frames where the resist is colored so when you spray it with another color mist you end up with two colors, or you can leave them one color with white.
Adored these little dominoes from Jenni Bowlin:
The DIY line from Crate Paper was gorgeous!
And of course I scouted out the new Thickers--a must-have for sure!
The Glitz booth had this super cool hanging above it and I adored all three of their new lines.
Epiphany Crafts has a new Hexagon shaped tool--yes please!
LOVED the new BasicGrey Hipster collection, but it is not shipping until almost summer--Waaaah!
There was LOTS of washi tape on the floor. Bella Blvd has some very cute options (I like the thicker width)
And last, but not least, I am a total sucker for cute boy lines--My Mind's Eye has some adorable papers
and check out their cute felt robots:
So, now that I've totally bombarded you with pictures, what do you think. Were any of these on your favorites list? And now we play the waiting game, waiting for the new product to start coming in!
Thanks for stopping by!
:) Rebecca
