Scrapbook Circle Circle Round Up

This month's Circle Round looks like this:

round up

I decided to start with the Illustrated Faith Admirable  and Praiseworthy papers for my background since Bright and Colorful is the main element of this Round Up.

The next largest circle (Get Sticky With It) references stickers. I used the Evalicious puffy stickers in diagonal corners on my page. Some of the stickers also worked for Burst of Black like the Lucky sticker and #memories sticker. For the smallest circle I used the Dear Lizzy Wood Button in my title.rk sc october-14
Have you tried out the Scrapbook Circle October Round Up? What did you use for each of the elements? Share on Facebook-we'd love to see!

Scrapbook Circle Color on the Edge

Sometimes I like to add some color to the edge of my layout. In the past, I used Cat's Eye Chalk Edgers to do this, but my current way of adding color to the edge is so fun and creates a nice blended effect.

I use Tim Holtz Distress Inks and his Mini Ink Blending tool. I lay a piece of scratch paper or a craft mat underneath my project and move in a circular motion from the scratch paper towards the edge of my project.

You can see when I move my patterned paper that I really do lay a lot of ink down on the scratch paper as I am moving towards my patterned paper.rk sc october-17
I think this results in a nice blended look.

I really like the way the orange ink coordinated with the orange in my photo!

Scrapbook Circle and Neat and Tangled

October's Scrapbook Circle kit (Mix Tape) includes a fun stamp from Neat and Tangled. I used this adorable stamp on my layout this month and it is up on the Scrapbook Circle blog today. Go check it out and grab your Scrapbook Circle October Kit and Add on before they are sold out!
To create this layout, I first stamped the Neat and Tangled book stamp multiple times across a piece of Neenah White Cardstock with Versafine ink.
Then I used my Kuratake Gansai Tambi watercolor paints and fine tipped waterbrush and colored the images in.
The nice thing about these watercolors is that they provide a very rich color and can be opaque depending on how you apply them.
Next, I stamped the sentment using the same Versafine ink.
I love the way the stamping and watercolors really stand out on this page and will definitely be using this technique again soon!

Simple Stories & Tombow Adhesives Swap

Hi All! Rebecca here! The Simple Stories team had the pleasure of swapping goodies with the Tombow adhesives team this month.I received an assortment of Tombow adhesives and a set of Dual Tip Markers. For my first project I created an altered notebook. I bought a composition book from the Dollar Store, pulled out my Simple Stories We Are...Family collection and the several Tombow adhesives. I got to work changing it from a plain old black and white notebook into this...
I used the Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to cover the front and back with patterned paper.
I used Tombow Xtreme to apply cards and smaller pieces of paper.
I added layers to the front, back...
and inside.
I love how quick and easy it is to turn a plain composition book into a personalized gift with some pretty Simple Stories paper and stickers and some good adhesive.
I also created a layout this time using both the Tombow adhesives and markers.
I stamped the hot air balloons and colored them in with the Dual Tip Markers.
I used the Tombow Stamp Runner to adhere elements to my page. I used it as a roller on the larger pieces like the one on the right and as the Stamper to stamp out a square adhesive on the smaller elements like the small cloud.
For some extra dimension I used Tombow 3D Foam Tabs.
I like how they come in two sizes for different size embellishments or die cuts.
Supplies Used:

4700 Collection Kit
4701 Simple Basics Kit
4702 Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers
