I am always in love with the products in the Mood Boards. So my first glance is always, what do I want out of this Mood Board lol! The necklace, the luggage, the sandals, the globe, the California sign. Well actually I usually want it ALL! So my next look is always trying to match kit items up with the different elements. I pull several options out and then get to work. Here is my layout:
I created a watercolor background in mint to reflect the dominant color choice of the Mood Board elements. I used Gelatos and Heidi Swapp mint Color Shine mist to create the background. First, I colored big, thick strokes with Gelatos.Next I used a brush drenched with water and turned the Gelatos into a watercolor
Lastly. I spritzed with the mint Heidi Swapp mist. Then I die cut the stars using a Cut Shoppe cut file called Counting Stars. I used Tim Holtz blender and Hero Arts Ombre Ink to color the stars.
Starting with the lightest color on the Hero Arts ink pad I inked the stars and then as I moved towards the middle of the stars, I picked up the middle color with the blender and finally finished the bottom with the darkest color.
I used the vellum with foiled airplanes to mimic the airplane and cloud graphic. Since the letters of the California sign are vertical I wrote out the word love the same way with Thickers. The silver foil is reminiscent of the silver trim on the luggage.
The globe die cut was perfect for the globe element. All of the travel pieces in the kit like this cork word were perfect for this month's mood board. And the map paper brought to mind the necklace.
If you love the June Mood Board as much as I did and want to create with it, please share on Scrapbook Circle's Facebook page. We would love to see!
