Scrapbook Circle Hello Today and Working Outside the Grid

I am a known lover of the grid format, but if you use grids a lot you know sometimes you have to mix it up a bit so you don't get too static or boring. I used the Scrapbook Circle Februaru Kit Hello Today and Add on Right There to make this sort of grid based layout:

I started with 3 4x6 photos and punched them into 3x4 rectangles with rounded corners. But rather than make the whole layout a grid with 3x4 shapes, I cut out the October Afternoon patterned paper into squares and rounded those corners or cut around the inner shapes. I added some embellishments and stickers to the squares to further break out of the grid.

I also put the title in between the squares and photos. So it is a grid, but not completely linear or symmetrical.

Just another way to change up the grid! Do you like to change up the grid or does working outside the lines make you cringe?
