Simple Stories and Therm O Web

I was recently up on the Simple Stories blog and Therm O Web blog showing a back to school layout made with Simple Stories Smarty Pants line and Therm O Web adhesives (featuring the TOW GLitter Dust Photo Corners).
I adore all the elements in the Smarty Pants line. And the Therm O Web Glitter Dust corners add just the right amount of shine! I used them as actual photo corners:
and to add a fun edge to an already adorable chipboard border:
Mine are back into the swing of things in school and we are all happy in the routine, but thoroughly enjoying our weekends, which will be free until soccer starts in October. Hope you and yours had a fabulous weekend too!

Catching Up

So much to catch up on! I have new Simple Stories products in the house so I wanted to share a few more projects that I made for CHA. I have a Say Cheese layout, but it got picked up for publication so I cant share that yet (yay!!) but I did also make a card with Say Cheese:
I also had fun with December Documented. I made this card:
and this layout:
and even got a jump start on a December Daily album:
I am not going to share the inside yet because once I get it back I have plans to really do it up even more with the new embellishments. Cant wait!
And since I decided to look forward to Christmas, how about we look back to the 4th of July? I finally figured out (from reading photography posts pinned to pinterest) how to use the bulb setting on my camera and came up with some fun fireworks shots:

Fast forward from the Fourth of July to the first day of school! Yikes. Time flies.

I am sure you know you will be seeing tons more of these throughout the next few weeks ;)
Oh and let's jump back to July for a second.
I got to go to CHA for work this time and I also was tasked with introducing all the new products on video! Yikes. Nerve wracking to say the least :) But I will say I had a lot of fun. Here is one video--you all know how much I always love Elle's Studio.

You can see the rest of the CHA videos (we filmed over 100!!) at Scrapbook.com HERE.
Thanks for stopping by and putting up with my back and forth time warp of a post lol!

Scrapbook Circle Let's Go On An Adventure and...WINNER!

ooooooh, I am so loving the new Scrapbook Circle Kit. It is for the month of August and it is called Let's Go On An Adventure. This month I was tasked with using the Studio Calico Cork Stickers in a fun way. So I decided to try and challenge myself to use the ENTIRE package on one layout. Scrapbook Circle kits come with SO many awesome goodies AND I decided to buy the add on this month so I had plenty of other embellishments to create lots more layouts with. And the look of all that cork in one layout is super fun:
I cut the patterned paper into a die cut background with my Cameo and then just started layering the cork on top. I played with layering the cork over embellishment
and under them as well:
If you want to get a kit run over to Scrapbook Circle now! They have a habit of selling out! Oh and if you want to know when new kits come out, when new challenges are posted and all other fun and exciting Scrapbook Circle news, be sure to sign up for the newsletter here.
And my random winner from the Belated Birthday Bash is Cher (I emailed you Cher!)
Happy Belated Birthday! What a great layout. It is amazing what one can do with just one piece of pattern paper. Have fun at CHA and thanks for the chance to win!
-Cher
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes, comments and love. You all know there are always more giveaways around the corner, that's just how I like to roll. So stay tuned!

Therm O Web Zips and Summer Fun

Each summer I like to make a mini album documenting all the fun we've had. Even if we don't travel we do lots of fun family activities that should be documented and I like having them together in one fun album. This year I used a Heidi Swapp album and lots of Therm O Web adhesives, including Therm O Web Zips.

Zips have several uses. One basic one is using them to easily apply ribbons and trim. I tied the twine and see through blue ribbon, but I only had a small piece of the the thicker trim and it is not the sort of trim that ties easily anyway. Simply cut Therm O Web Zips to the length of the mini album, apply and remove the backing and attach the trim.

Another trick for using the Zips is to use them to apply loose glitter. For the cover of the album, it is easy to cut Zips and lay them in the shape of a star:

Pour on loose glitter and then shake off for a fun cover element.

Zips can also be used to adhere borders of embellishments

like the wood veneer here:

If you run out of Zots you can always use Zips to apply embellishments such as fabric flowers. Just cut the Zips short enough to hide behind the embellishment, adhere to flower...

and adhere to the page.

You can make patterns using Zips...

covered with loose glitter as accents.

Similarly, to applying loose glitter, Zips can be used to adhere micro beads. Zips even work perfectly on acrylic pages.

Zips are helpful if you need to apply several rows or layers of trim:

And rather than tying a bow with trim, sometimes it is easier to apply one strip of trim and then use another piece of trim to make the bow and attach it separately.

It keeps the line of the trim flat and straight

and you can adhere the bow to any part of the trim.
