Simple Stories Smarty Pants

I simply adore the new Simple Stories line Smarty Pants. And with school gearing up for us in another week this collection came at just the right time! I had so much fun taking photos of my kids last year with chalkboards and their grades and only hope they will cooperate yet again!
Of course the patterned papers are fabulous, but I adore the goodies from the Smarty Pants collection - chipboard, stickers and brads OH MY!

And dont forget about the SN@P embellishments! Many of them can be worked right into the new collections just like this chipboard speech bubble.
The Smarty Pants collection is going to be perfect for thank you cards and teachers gifts too!

Big Belated Birthday Bash GIVEAWAY

THE GIVEAWAY
You all have been so patient and waited long enough. I have amassed a really fun collection of goodies (including a Hero Arts ink pad in Orange Soda (I LOVE this color I just have doubles), a Heidi Swapp Color Shine (again I have doubles) and lots more. I will send the whole package to one lucky duck. Just leave me a comment. You can leave a second comment if you decide to become a new follower of my blog or if you are already a follower you can tell me that in a second comment too. I will leave the comments open all week because I am going to CHA (!!!) and if I snag anything while I am there I will include that in the box too :)

Ok, on to Scrapbook Circle and the fabulous July Kit Let's Chat, which I had SO much fun with...
Do you ever say, "I am going to need to buy 2 pieces of that paper because both sides are fabulous!" I do. All the time. But what if you really only have one sheet?  How do you best maximize that one piece of paper? I usually start by finding which side I want to focus on. Here it was the sunburst side that I really wanted to use more. So I cut a slightly larger than 6 inch piece of that side.

After adhering that half onto cardstock, I flipped over my remaining piece of the patterned paper and started fussy cutting out the speech bubbles. I felt like a needed something in between the sunburst pattern and cardstock so I cut the edge off the Elle's Studio paper and it made a nice trim!  Then I layered the speech bubbles, stickers and Pink Paislee arrow. Finally I made the title by mixing the Thickers and Jillibean word sticker and adding some Jenni Bowlin rubons (anyone else LOVE those? They are like BUTTER)!

And voila! I got to use both sides of that awesome piece of patterned paper!

Therm O Web and Bella Blvd

I loved having the opportunity to work with Bella Blvd's Sand and Surf Collection! I have already amassed a ton of swimming summer pictures since in the southwest we have been getting in the pool since April! I made three layouts and used the Therm O Web Mini Runner to adhere everything down. I added Therm O Web 3D Zots (my favorites for adding dimension) to several elements that I will highlight here.

You can use the old trick of placing cardstock stickers on your clothes to get the stickiness off, then use 3d Zots to pop them up here:

and here:

The feathers are not tricky to adhere if you use Therm O Web SuperTape.

For this layout it is fun to add dimension to the grid squares.

And that is easy to do with Therm O Web 3d Zots here:

and here:

I love using the Bella Blvd flags too. I used on in this layout. To protect little fingers from the pin tuck it behind a photo.

And to keep the flag from being too flat, place a Therm O Web 3D Zot right behind the pennant.

Buttons are a breeze to adhere and stay where you want them when you use Therm O Web Zots.

So with a small assortment of Therm O Web adhesives and the beautiful Bella Blvd Sand and Surf Collection it is easy to complete layouts with fun and dimension!

Scrapbook Circle Just My Type Challenge

There is a really cool challenge up on the Scrapbook Circle blog and the prize is this really cool bunch of Panda Eight flair:
Awesome, right? All you have to do to be in the running is:
1. Create a layout that features typewriters somehow (paper, font, photos, etc.). We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do.
2. Post your project to your blog, a gallery, or our Facebook page. Come back to this post and leave a comment with the direct link to your posted project.
3. Enter by July 17th, 9:00 pm Pacific.
One random winner will get all that awesome flair! Here is my take on the challenge:
Not only did I use the gorgeous typewriter paper from this month's Scrapbook Circle kit Let's Chat I also scrapped my actual typewriter. I typed the journaling on the Fancy Pants tag:
And I misted using the studio Calico mask from the add on with Heidi Swapp Color Shine. The circles of the mask in black reminded me of typewriter keys:

If you are interested in participating in the challenge, here is all the information you need. Good luck! And if you were wondering where my birthday giveaway is, come back again. It got delayed as i have been dealing with a child who refuses to eat and has lost 6 pounds. Sigh. But this too shall pass.
