Scrapbook Circle's First Avenue.... and My Big BIrthday

Scrapbook Circle's June kit First Avenue features a bunch of the fabulous Basic Grey Collection Hipster. I LOVE this collection.

But it is truly the way the kit incorporates other elements that makes it AMAZING to work with. Like the Farmhouse paper. And the Jillibean Soup alphas. I also got the Add On this month. And that only makes the whole experience even more perfect.

Add in the Bella Blvd washi. And the Fancy Pants envelopes. SIGH. LOVE LOVE LOVE. It was one of those sit down and delve in and get lost in all the goodness kind of kits.
Yeah, so I turn the big 4-0 this month. Not super thrilled. But I think for the most part I am handling it ok. Pretty much ignoring it for the most part (with a side of denial to round it out). But it wouldnt be a big birthday without a big celebration. So I am collecting fun scrappy goodness for a nice big box to send someone. Keep on the lookout. Anywho back to the kit.... HOLY cuteness, how awesome are the Basic Grey chipboard shapes? And see the Rock On circle? THAT my friends is from the Scrapbook Circle printable. It used it a TON this month! OH and the flair???!!! Made exclusively for this Scrapbook Circle Kit and PUUUURFECT designs and colors.
And the stickers? A whole sheet of Basic Grey elements stickers. And that cool border on the journaling was the Fancy Pants Swagger border stickers. I am telling you, SUCH a cool combination of product.
I kind of have a feeling these kits are going to sell out, so run over and snap one up now if you are interested.

Traditions, Gifts and Guest Designs

Hey all! How are you doing with your holiday check lists? I am definitely behind. No holiday photo yet and so no holiday card. No wrapping has been done. The last 2 days have been chilly and RAINY. So much rain that leaving the house is not at all tempting. But, we have been having holiday fun and carrying on with holiday traditions. Little Miss had her Music Program last week.
At first she looked a bit like she might hurl, but then she got into her groove and was very animated through the whole program and said she had a lot of fun.
This weekend we decorated a gingerbread house. For the last few years we have bought a kit from Target:
It never ends up looking as cute as the picture, but wow, do they have fun decorating (and eating) the house:
We also have an Elf this year. They LOVE him and run downstairs each morning to see where he is hiding and what he is up to. I've been trying to get a good picture of his antics, but the weather is not agreeing.
In other news, I am one of the Helmar Guest Designers this month! My introductory post is HERE, where I explain how I made this little Christmas decor:
AND, I've still been creating with Scrapbook Circle's December kit Note to Self. This is my latest:
Everything here (except the cardstock and American Crafts Thickers ampersand) is from Note to Self. I pulled a lot of the pink elements together for this one, which left a lot of masculine colors left for a different layout. I love the Lily Bee index cards and layered them here for a fun file-o-fax look. The Ocober Afternoon Little Flyer tucked right in there.
I had been wanting to play with these Basic Grey flowers too:
They would be super cute on a card too :)
Well, off to procrastinate a bit more ;) Have a great week!

Elle's Studio and Echo Park

As soon as I saw the Echo Park line Playground I knew right away I would be using some Elle's Studio Brights tags along with it.

On this layout, I used both the This Moment tags

and the Sweet Stitches tags.

I love the bright pop of green they add. The cardstock is Bazzill, the buttons are Basic Grey and the twine is Daisy Bucket. Everything else is from the adorably fun Echo Park Playground kit. I also recently acquired their Summer Days line, but you'll have to wait to see that when the April Elle's Studio gallery goes live :)
Have a great night!

Elle's Studio Handmade Layers

Have you seen the latest Elle's Studio Collection, Handmade Layers? If not RUN over there now and check it out. I am in LOVE. Music notes, stitching, pennants--it is all wonderful. I got the chance to play with some of the new goodies already and I had such fun. I made this layout:
My parents got Little Dude some jeans for Christmas and I am shocked at how much he LOVES them. Enough to model for me. Enough to want to wear them ALL the time. At around the same time Scott had a pair of jeans he did NOT love and rather than just get rid of them I thought I could use the denim and voila...
I sewed the Blank Pennants right onto the pocket for the title. And sewed back and forth over this 2 Inch Circle Tag:
and then used this 2 Inch Circle Tag for the journaling:
The cute background paper is GCD Studios, the wood veneer star is Studio Calico and the buttons are Basic Grey. I think the Jeans are Old Navy lol and I have PLENTY more denim to play with--any suggestions?
Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Circle Happy Days

The February kit for Scrapbook Circle is called Happy Days and let me tell you it made me very happy indeed! So many gorgeous papers from Basic Grey, Pink Paislee, Glitz and October Afternoon. I easily made 5 layouts. You can go check out sneaks of the kit HERE. Some inspiration from the design team is already loaded up to the Idea Gallery and plenty more will be coming! Here is one layout I made using only items from this fabulous kit:
I sewed the transparency right onto the background so I didnt have to deal with hiding adhesive:
I cut out a flower from the Basic Grey papers but to make it even more over the top I cut out and layered extra petals and then used the October Afternoon badge as the center:
The pics are from when my best friend from 7th grade came to visit with her family. Her youngest and mine were buds within 5 minutes of meeting each other. We had a feeling they would get along well, but they were constantly holding hands, sitting together and carrying on long in depth 3 year old conversations. It may be the cutest thing I have ever seen. People kept stopping us and saying things like, "I wish my kids got along so well" and we would laugh and say, "oh they are NOT related!!"
Anyway, this kit is AMAZING. Run, do not walk, over to Scrapbook Circle to check it out for yourself!

Just Another Manic Monday

The day really gets away from me on Monday. I mean it's already almost 2pm and what have I gotten done? And it is 102 degrees. Ugh. So I am dragging. Buuuut....

The new ScrapTiffany challenge is up. This week's challenge is to scrap a Fall or Halloween related layout. I chose fall because I had the new Basic Grey Indian Summer papers. I scrapped our trip to the patch last year because ~Ahem~ we haven't been to the patch yet this year, it has just been too darn hot.

Be sure to head over and check out the other Fall/Halloween projects. And remember if you participate email your project to Tiffany for a chance to be the GDT for November.

I also have a new layout posted at the Posh Designs Scrapbook Store blog. It is this Sassafras layout and gives some ideas for using their amazing die cut edges.

I hope to be back tomorrow with some new photos and projects, but since this day is zipping by, I am not going to make any promises. I guess I can't complain when a Monday goes by quickly! Hope you are having a great start to your week :)
