Gel Press Techniques for Cardmakers!

I am super late to trying out a Gel Press, but I finally did give it a try and, WOW, I had SO MUCH FUN!

I played around with tons of mediums like dye inks, Distress Oxide Inks, acrylic paints and even alcohol inks.

I loved layering inks and paints, using stamps and stencils and then pulling a bunch of the backgrounds into cards.

I love how you don't need specialty paper or expensive paints to create some amazing layered backgrounds.

Although I normally tend towards clean and simple and very linear designs, I had so much fun just trying out techniques and mediums and getting a bit messy.

Though my absolute favorite technique was one I learned from the gel press YouTube channel where you place alcohol ink on the gel press and get it the way you want it and then let it dry. Then add a bit of acrylic paint and place any paper on top and the acrylic paint lifts the alcohol ink design and transfers it to the paper. It is an incredibly fun technique!

Check out all of these ideas and techniques in today's video:
