Scrapbook Circle - Our Adventure - Cut it Up

Some patterned papers just beg to be cut up don't they? Like the Elle's Studio Shine Collection paper Say Cheese from the July Scrapbook Circle Main Kit Our Adventure. Tons of cute polaroid shapes just waiting to be used. Of course you could use the whole thing as is, but it is also really fun to fussy cut the frames and use several on a layout.

Some polaroid shapes I layered with photos and some I layered with stickers and die cuts.

Then, layering them haphazardly across the page, adding some droplets of white mist and a playful mixed font title (I especially love the American Crafts Thickers from the July Add on Happy Day), as well as some doodling and handwritten journaling and you have a quick and easy fun layout!

Simple Stories Sea to Shining Sea

I take tons of photos on the Fourth of July, and with the summer being so busy, I like to quickly get them into a layout. Simple Stories has a SIMPLE answer - the latest Sea to Shining Sea mini collection includes everything you need to get your 4th of July or other summer layout done in a snap!
I used 2 strips of 4x11.5 paper and one 3.5x11.5 patterned paper and stitched around each rectangle and adhered those down as horizontal blocks to create my background. I combined 15 photos into three 4 x 4 collages to use on my center strip of paper. I trimmed down the Original Summer Memories card so you could see more of the patterned paper and machine sewing behind it. Plus, I added some letter stickers for a title to it.
I trimmed down the journaling card so that it match in height to the Red White and Cute card and typed my journaling, adding a border sticker to take up some empty space.
The large star was fussy cut from another card and then popped up with 3 dimensional adhesive.
Lastly, I love including tiny Simple Stories stickers right on my photos as a banner or in the case of collages right in the middle where the points between photos intersect.
Sea to Shining Sea is such a fun collection and could be used for a number of summer themes, but I loved getting my Fourth of July memories down on a page so quickly!

Scrapbook Circle - Circle Round Up

If you love recipe challenges and Venn Diagrams then the latest addition to the Scrapbook Circle blog series Circle Round Up is for you. Here is the Circle Round Up for this month.

circle round up
Basically, you challenge yourself to use something from the Scrapbook Circle kits to represent each circle in the Venn Diagram. Also the larger the circle, the more dominant on your layout that element should be. Here is my take on this month's Circle Round Up.

rk sc some like it hot

This month I not only had the main Scrapbook Circle kit Our Adventure, but also the add on Happy Day to AND add on Away We Go to work with.  The largest circle calls for a yellow base paper which I used. The second largest green circle calls for colorful accents. I used two of the suggestions from here (Pink Paislee label sticker and Allison Kreft alphabet stickers).
For the third largest gray circle, I used the Elle's Studio transparent tags. And finally for the smallest brown circle I used a few American Crafts Thickers and Studio Calico stars.
