We R Memory Keepers Thumb Notch Punch

I love supporting products that I have used and believe in. I also love sharing an awesome deal. So I had to let you know that We R Memory Keepers has the cutest new punch called the Thumb Notch Punch. It literally fits in the palm of your hand, but as is true of all We R tools it is well made and sturdy. The Thumb Notch punch was made with pocket page scrapping in mind. You can use it to punch notches in your pockets to easily pull the cards in and out of. But there are many more uses for this handy little punch.
Like, creating a gift card holder for a card:
Or making envelopes for an envelope mini album.
I used the Bella Blvd Snapshots line. It was perfect for creating a mini album of envelopes to hold the many wallet size "Extras" I have collected!

The punch creates perfect notches which make it easy to slip photos in and out.
If you are interested in the Thumb Notch Punch you can get for a STEAL at Scrapbook.com. It is usually $8, but right now it is on sale until Sunday for just $4.99!!

Have a great night!

Repetitive shapes used to create a background are super trendy right now, but you don't need an electronic die cutting device to create the look. A simple punch in a fun shape can be used too! I created this hexagon background with a hexagon punch and the Simple Stories Say Cheese collection:

Using two punches of the same shape in slightly different sizes lets you turn your photos into fun shapes and your patterned papers into fun photo mattes. For these smaller shapes I use the 6 x 6 pad to include more of the design on each shape.

And if you do happen to have an electronic die cutting machine, you can create a mixed font title by using Simple Stories stickers and a large cut title. I use the Simple Basics collection to cut titles.

And to top it all off, a smattering of brads and chipboard scattered throughout creates a fun look!

So pull out those basic shapes punches and your Simple Stories collections to create fun backgrounds!

Scrapbook Circle Slice of Life

I love September's Scrapbook Circle Kit Photo Goes Here. I had fun creating a slice looking collage of photos and knew they weren't representative of anything important, just more of a slice of our life. Thinking that gave me the idea for both the title and design of this layout:

I sliced strips of patterned paper from the Scrapbook Circle September kit and adhered them down on the gray cardstock from the cardstock add on. I sewed down each strip. These vertical strips lent themselves to a fun vertical title:

All that was needed after that was an Elle's Studio journaling strip and some fun embellishments.

I used the Fancy Pants cork arrows to make a border of arrows pointing backwards since they were going BACK to school. I altered the cork a bit with a white gel pen and some gold stickles:
and broke one in half to turn a die cut into an arrow:
