Quick and Easy Window Cards with Scrapbook Circle

I love clean and simple cards, but when you can add an unexpected element they are even more fun! A window card adds a unique touch to an otherwise simple card. The PinkFresh Acrylic shapes found in the Scrapbook Circle November Kit, Wonderland, make it very easy to add windows to cards. rk-sc-november-cards-1

By punching the same shape through a card panel and base, you can sandwich the acrylic shape in between and create a window. Check out this quick video to see how I made this card with this simple technique!

Have you started making holiday cards yet? Are you using the Wonderland kit? Be sure to share in the Scrapbook Circle of Friends group, we would love to see them!

Prepping A December Album with Scrapbook Circle

When I saw the Scrapbook Circle November Kit, Wonderland, I knew I wanted it to be a part of my December album. Plus, if I start prepping my December album now, I am more likely to actually get it done in December! I grabbed a 6x8 album and got to work.

The cover is always the most fun, don't you think! I loved using the PinkFresh alphas, Elle's Studio tags and Pebbles patterned paper. I die cut a circle of patterned paper from the 6x6 PinkFresh pad and created the snow by die cutting a circle of the same size from cardstock and then die cutting the border on top. I used some Aleen's Glitter snow paste to create the faux snow!

Next I worked on the tab dividers. I created one tab for food.

One for gift ideas and lists.

And the last tab will be my traditional December album including photos and journaling.

To get ready for this section, I cut down the PinkFresh patterned paper into each numbered piece and added them into various page protectors.

Yes, it is very bare bones at this point, but at least I know I started it and will be able to add to it as the month goes on and I start making my lists. My goal is to actually take a picture each day in December and print it out each night, but we'll see if that happens!

Do you create a December album every year? When do you start creating?

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Circle Tech Tip: 5 Ways to Modify Wood Veneer

Hey everyone! Rebecca here with this month's tech tip! This month I am sharing 5 ways to modify the already beautiful Pink Paislee wood veneer.

The simplest way to create unqiue embellishments from the already adorable dipped wood veneer is to layer them with other elements from the kit. I use chipboard stickers, buttons, twine and Thickers to modify my wood veneer.

Next, I used Staz On Ink and the Reset Girl Roller Stamp from the kit. I also used Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops, Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen and Therm O Web foiling. You can see all the techniques I used in this quick video:

If you try any of these techniques, please share in the Scrapbook Circle of Friends Facebook page! We would love to see!
