Therm O Web Deco Foils

I love the new Therm O Web Deco Foils and with Valentine's Day coming up they are perfect for decorating and creating cards for Valentine's Day!RK TOW Valentines-30
To create a gold foiled vase, start with a plan glass bottle and Therm O Web Glitter Dust Spray.

RK TOW Valentines-20

Spray the Gold Glitter Dust into the bottle.

RK TOW Valentines-21

Once it is dry, squeeze from Therm O Web Deco Foil Liquid Glue on a silicone mat.

RK TOW Valentines-22

Using a foam brush paint the Deco Foil Liquid Glue onto the outside of the bottle. It is ok to create ridges, they end up giving the foil a wood grain look.

RK TOW Valentines-23

Place the Deco Foil around the bottle and smooth with your fingers to transfer the foil to the outside of the bottle. Create pinwheeels on straws and place inside the vase.

RK TOW Valentines-1

To use the Therm O Web Deco Foils new foam adhesive, die cut into a shape for a card.

RK TOW Valentines-3

For a fun effect, peel off the top of the adhesive backing and place the foil down. Place foil and foam inside an embossing folder.

RK TOW Valentines-4

Run the embossing folder through your die cutting machine.

RK TOW Valentines-5
Peel off the foil to reveal the embossed and foiled effect!

RK TOW Valentines-6

If there is more room on the remaining foil you can use it to create a polka dot foiled look for punched out shapes. The foam works with punches perfectly!

RK TOW Valentines-7

After punching desired shapes, peel off the front backing and rub the remaining foil on top.

RK TOW Valentines-8

Adhere all the die cut and punched shapes to a Valentine's Day Card.

RK TOW Valentines-2

Happy Valentine's Day!

:) Rebecca

NEW Simple Stories I Am Collection

There is an amazing new release from Simple Stories called I Am and every scrapbooker needs it. Why? Because we all scrapbook everyone else first. Our kids, our families, our friends, husband's boyfriends, siblings, and pets. For some reason we always come last! This new collection makes it a breeze to get YOU into the scrapbooks. Plus, it's gorgeous!

New to Simple Stories are chipboard frames and FOILED pieces. Love them both!

I also loved the interactive pockets. This one had 5 flags with strings that fit inside. I added journaled word stickers as my journaling. I chose the ones that were appropriate for my layout, but seriously, does it get any easier than that?!

On this layout I typed my journaling, but the strip of patterned paper at the bottom also includes journaled sentiments in the I Am theme.
I can't get over the beauty of the foiled pieces like this die cut.
And with that in literally no time at all I had not one but TWO layouts about ME! I can't tell you how long it had been before this that I'd made a layout about myself. Grab this collection and get yourself in the books!

A Layout, a Card and a Pocket Page - Oh My!

Most of the time, I use my Scrapbook Circle kits to make layouts. But this month I was inspired to use the main kit (All You Need is Love) and the Ad Ons Hello Love and Shine Bright to make layouts and a card and a base for a pocket page spread. Here is the layout:

rk sc shine

The add ons came with 6x6 pads so I was inspired to make card too.

And finally I decided to make a base pocket page spread for when I print out my first of the year photos:

I love all the goodies in the kits and all the options. You really can create whatever you can imagine with Scrapbook Circle kit!

Scrapbook Circle OIW

The One Item Number I worked with this month for Scrapbook Circle were the Plastic Hearts by Freckled Fawn. They were so fun and look like candy! I used a bunch to frame this large heart on this layout:

Therm O Web's NEW Deco FOILS!!

Deco-Foil-Foam
It can be super quick and easy to add a touch of trendy gold foil to your home with Therm O Web Deco Foils and Foam. Simple cut the foam on your Silhouette and adhere to a back ground (such as printed burlap) and insert to a large frame. The vellum feathers are adhered with Therm O Web Zots™.
rk tow deco foil-7

This layout includes NEW iCraft ™Deco Foils, NEW iCraft™ Deco Foil Foam Sheets and NEW iCraft™ Deco Foil Liquid adhesive (to make the raised gold dots on the TODAY die cut).

rk tow deco foil-5

Cut the title from the Therm O Web DecoFoil Foam Sheets. It is a double sided adhesive. Peel off the back of the adhesive and place down on the layout.

rk tow deco foil-1

Peel off the top layer of paper and place an iCraft™ Deco Foil sheet with the color side facing up. Then rub onto the iCraft Deco Foam with your finger. I have tried several other utensils to rub the Foil on, but I've found the softness of a finger tip actually works best!

rk tow deco foil-2

Peel back the Foil and voila! You have a shiny foiled title!

rk tow deco foil-3

It is also possible to cut the foam with a manual die cut machine. The gold stars were cut with wafer thin dies and We R Memory Keepers Evolution Advanced.

rk tow deco foil-6

It is super quick and easy to foil elements for cards too!

Scrapbook Circle Mood Board and Make Your Own Water Colors

Hi All! Rebecca here with this month's mood board. I don't know about you, but these mood boards have become Wish Lists for me! And this one is no different.

Jan mood board

Eeek! The pink, gold and aqua! The camera and water colors! I just love it all to pieces. I used the Scrapbook Circle All You Need is Love kit. Here is my layout take on this mood board:

rk sc happy

The color scheme is represented (pink patterned paper, gold elements, aqua and black too). I used the Thickers script word as the the title and to represent the script writing from the Lovely Day words. I used the exclusive Scrapbook Circle stamps to stamp the Be Mine and Love You flags. The wood veneer heart was covered with gold paint.

The pink and gold combination is perfect for a love layout :)SC close up -3

To mimic the gradient aqua water color hues, I used the exclusive Scrapbook Circle mini heart template. I placed it over one of the gold glittered tags and covered the hearts with modelling paste. Once they were dry I water colored the hearts in varying degrees of aqua. To make water colors in varying shades, use water and spray mists.

SC close up -9

Fill small cups or a palette with a tiny bit of water and add a drop of mist to the water.SC close up -10

Paint a few the darkest shade, a few a medium shade and several the lightest shade.

SC close up -11

Cover with a glitter heart, word sticker, plastic heart and puffy sticker heart.
