Monday Means Favorite Manufacturer

That's right, today's challenge at ScrapTiffany is to use your favorite manufacturer. Now I have probably a top 5 that I use all the time. In the last couple of years I have found that I gravitate to these manufacturers and can spend less money and get everything I need by sticking to these products. But the challenge isn't to list your top 5, you can only pick one. Soooooo...I chose October Afternoon. Here is my layout:

The cardstock and ribbon are Bazzill, but everything else is October Afternoon from their 2 latest lines Fly a Kite and Thrift Shop. I love both these lines and they are so versatile.

Go on over to ScrapTiffany to see what manufacturers the rest of the team chose. I thought it was so cool that no one on the team chose the same manufacturer! And if you take the challenge, be sure to email it to Tiffany by Friday.

I'll be back this week with some peeks from the Serendipity Scrapbooks and 3 Scrappy Boys kits as soon as I get the O.K. to post them.
Have a great week!

I Missed Monday

It sped right by. I barely noticed it. Ditto for Tuesday and Wednesday. This week has been moving at light speed. Our friends left on Saturday :( and Sunday we had lots of housework to do. And here we are, 4 days later and less organized! I am not complaining though. We all had a blast. The kids had so much fun together and getting to see my friend (who I've known for ummm let's just say over 20 years--sheesh, when you can say you've known someone for over 20 years and you didnt meet in your crib....that means you are OLD) was awesome. Anywho...

Monday was a new challenge over at ScrapTiffany and it was a fun one. The fabulously talented design team member Sheri Twing drew up this incredible sketch:

I loved it so much I stuck to it very closely:

Lots of new October Afternoon here. If I havent already mentioned--I'll be using these lines on everything lol!

If you use the sketch, be sure to email your take on it to Tiffany by Friday.

In other ScrapTiffany news, it is time for a new Design Team call. All the information is HERE. When I applied to the ScrapTiffany design team I had never been on a design team before. She took a chance and now I have had many other opportunities.  I can't say enough about how wonderful, encouraging and fun Tiffany is and how much of a blast it is to be a member of her team.

I have a few cards to share too. Just some thank you's I whipped up mainly using the Cosmo Cricket 6x6 Garden Variety pad:

And I almost forgot to share that I was Soup Spotted again the other day! You can see this layout:

Otherwise I am eyeball deep in kits right now. I am working on the Serendipity May Altered Kit and the 3 Scrappy Boys Main kit. Both are fabulous and I can't wait to share, but for now, I'll just share a quick photo instead. These two were thick as thieves. Everywhere we went people would say, "Oh I wish my kids were sweet to each other like that." And we would all bust out laughing and explain, "no they're not related, they're just good friends." :)

Monday Mania

We are in manic cleaning mode. Our guests arrive this week and we have been spring cleaning, re-organizing and generally getting ready. Phew.

The new ScrapTiffany challenge is up. This week we are challenged to lift a technique. I dont think of myself as much of a technique person, but I am a huge blog reader so I see lots of ideas out there. I decided to lift a technique I saw on the Papertrey Ink Blog. Nichole Heady described how she "Double Cut" felt with two sizes of die cuts. A super cute look. So I ran some Creative Cafe felt through my Cuttlebug and then ran the cut out piece through again with a smaller die to cut out the center. And here is my layout:

I used the new October Afternoon Fly a Kite for this one. I am going to be using this stuff for EVERYTHING.
If you have a technique you have been inspired by send a lift over to Tiffany.

I am also loving the new Sassafras lines:

I also love the Studio Calico stuff:

Other than that.... I got my hair cut real short. I havent taken a picture of it yet, but I am sure we will have the camera out a bunch this week so it will get documented one way or another. Wish me luck with the piles of laundry that need to be tackled and have a great week. :)

Happy Hump Day!

I am feeling much better now that it is already wednesday! It will be a busy week here. Tomorrow we have the gym and fingerprinting at Little Miss's school. This weekend we have lots of cleaning to do because my BFF since 7th grade is coming with her DH and 2 adorable little girls to visit. It should be a fun and crazy week!

But for now I have a few things to share. A couple of layouts still to share from this month's Serendipity Scrapbooks kit:

And a card from the kit too:

And in some fun news, I had a layout spotted and posted on the Jillibean Soup blog today! Check it out here.

Finally, I've been playing with Basic Grey's Green at Heart and love it:

Have a great rest of the week :)

Monday Moment

Yeah, I am having a Monday moment. A little tired, a little cranky, a little wishing it were friday already. What is the best cure for a Monday moment? Why, cupcakes of course! Fortunately, cupcakes are the challenge of the week at ScrapTiffany! I created a little set of simple cupcake cards. Unfortunately one of the files I sent Tiffany showing the whole set wouldn't open---just realized that, sorry about that Tiffany! So here it is:

I have a little secret on getting perfectly matched ribbon, gems, and ink, but I may have to wait to share until it is my turn for the ScrapTiffany tutorial. For now, head on over to ScrapTiffany and see the other fabulous creations. If you want to take the Cupcake Challenge, be sure to email it to Tiffany.

I have another few layouts to share from the Serendipity Scrapbooks April kit. The imagine title came in the kit. The chipboard was nice and soft so I ran it through my Cuttlebug and it embossed easily. Then I swiped it with some crackle paint.

This is a pretty simple one, but I love layouts with just my guys on them. Honestly don't know what I would do without them.

There is just a TON of stuff in this kit. I think my last count was that I created one mini album, FIVE layouts and a card! I'll share more tomorrow, until then hope you're not having any Monday moments :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter or Passover or any other spring holiday you happen to celebrate :) We had a nice weekend with some warm weather and lots of fun Easter activities including egg dyeing:

We used this coloring kit

and if you have little kids, I HIGHLY recommend it. It comes with several colors of dye and a mini paint roller for each color.

It was only a few bucks so I bought 2 kits so each kid could have their own and there would be less bickering. The kids have so much fun because they get to paint rather than just drop the eggs in a cup of food coloring and sit and wait. My kids are not great waiters ;)

I have a couple of layouts to share from Serendipity's April Altered kit. I used the Kaiser mini album to document Little Man's 3rd birthday party. I painted the whole thing yellow which went really well with the pictures and the fun papers and embellies in the kit.

The main papers in the kit were from My Little Yellow Bicycle's Generation Z line and Serendipity Scrapbook's It's a Guy Thing line. But you can certainly use them on non guy pages. In fact one of my daily challenges is to use a boy line on a non boy page. Check out my challenge, HERE. This layout from the kit is my example:

Well I better go stash the candy before the kids eat themselves silly. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Check back tomorrow for the new ScrapTiffany challenge and some more layouts from the Serendipity kit!
