Even with the Rain

On Saturday, my little guy turned 3. Sigh. I was so anxious and excited to watch Little Miss grow up and couldn't wait until the next stage, but this guy is my baby and I want him to take his time. It doesnt really work that way though, does it? Time just keeps flying by. Seriously it feels like just yesterday that we all got to meet him for the first time:

And I clearly remember his first birthday and how he kept touching his cake, but wouldnt eat it and started crying because the icing was stuck on his hands lol!!

And his second birthday was hilarious. He got a green soccer ball, which he loved and carried around all day even while he was opening other presents! Probably due to the fact that at that point in his life he realized he better hold tight to the things he likes best lest his sister deprive him of them!

For this birthday we really wanted to have a party because he is at the age where he would start wondering why his sister would be getting one in June. So we rented an inflatable bouncer and asked two families who are friends with 2 kids each the same age as ours to come over and celebrate. Let me just say here that we live in a place that has 300 days of no significant precipitation AND I went as far as to check the Farmer's Almanac before picking the date. They dropped off the bouncer at 9:30am as planned and our two bounced in their jammies for about 1/2 an hour

...and then it started to rain. So Scott turned it off as instructed by the owner. It stopped and we turned it back on and then  it REALLY started to rain.  So we waited inside for everyone. Little Man kept saying, "Friends! Where are you friends?" Our guests arrived amidst a downpour--thanks for still making it guys!! Fortunately, all these kids play really well together and we have enough toys for the entire town, so they just played for a while. The rain stopped, but it had really been coming down, so we turned the bouncer back on and Scott crawled in with some towels. I came over with a few more and he handed out SOPPING wet towels and said, "we are gonna need a lot more." Meanwhile 6 kids are outside trying to bust in. Scott got it into bouncing shape and the kids all got in and bounced a bit. And then...it started to rain AGAIN! Really, at this point it was comical. Fortunately the pizza arrived, so we had an excuse to get them out. They had pizza and cake and we were able to get them back in the bouncer. One family had to leave but then the sun came out and the remaining four bounced the afternoon away. After they left we got ours down for a nap. Even Little Miss collapsed in exhaustion. Around 5pm we decided to wake them up so they could one last quick bounce before it was picked up and we could barely drag them out of bed. All in all, even with the rain, it was a really fun day and I think he had a great third birthday.

I love you little dude--you make my heart smile every day.

ScrapTiffany Blog Hop!!

Hi all! Welcome to the first official ScrapTiffany Blog Hop! Since this is the one year anniversary of ScrapTiffany the theme of this hop is celebrations. Woo hoo!

Now, if you just happened to my blog, go on back to the beginning of the hop here: www.ScrapTiffany.com and you'll work you're way back here.

If you've already seen the other celebratory projects, let me show you what I was working on...

Over the holidays I won some fun birthday themed papers from Creative Imaginations. Since my little guy's third birthday is coming up, I worked on a few projects for his day. Here is the invitation--don't you love the pennant banner sticker? The star punch is Martha Stewart.

And here is a little goody bag. I used the tab sticker to close the top and figured I could write the kid's name on it too.

And the birthday card for the star of the show.

And since this weekend is also Valentines celebration, I thought I would share a quick and easy Valentine's card that is mass-producible (is that even a word lol!!!) Seriously though, with 2 pieces of cardstock, one piece of patterned paper, a spool of ribbon, some buttons and twine and my trusty white gel pen, I made six of these...take that Hallmark.

Well, thanks for stopping by. While you're here, I would love if  you would take a minute to follow my blog (there is a link to do so at the right). If you do and leave me a comment that you did I will choose someone randomly on Monday to win the rest of the birthday Creative Imaginations package. There are some papers left and lots of cute embellies.

Now go on and enjoy the rest of the celebrations. Next up on the hop is Valerie. You can check out her fabulous projects HERE

Happy Weekend :)

Celebratory Monday

I'm not one to generally celebrate on Monday, BUT...today we are celebrating the one year anniversary of ScrapTiffany! The challenge was to scrap celebrations. I made a collage of birthday pictures. There is one for each birthday we've celebrated so far. The best part about the birthday's they've celebrated so far is the messy cake eating so that is what I focused on.

Go on over to ScrapTiffany to see the other celebratory layouts. If you take the challenge this week, you could be in the running for some goodies from Glitz Design. Just be sure to email your project to Tiffany before Friday.

And be sure to stop back over on Saturday for ScrapTiffany Blog Hop!!

It's Monday Baby....

and the challenge at ScrapTiffany is to scrap baby pictures. I didnt have any of my baby pictures around (hey Mom, can I get a few baby pics to make copies of?) so I took one of each of my littles, converted them to B&W and used them together on one layout. I love how much alike they looked just minutes after being born. I guess all babies look pretty similar moments after being born LOL!

Head on over to ScrapTiffany to see the other adorable baby pic layouts and if you take the challenge, email it to Tiffany by Friday.

In other news, there was a sad announcement at Color Me Daisy...

Color Me Daisy Kit Change Announcement

January 31st, 2010
The title of our kit this month has significant meaning to us. We have loved so much of our “little adventure” we embarked on almost two years ago. Color Me Daisy has been a labor of love, but it has also taken us away from some of the most important parts of our life. We knew this would take our time, but as our sons get older we realize that we are missing more of their lives than we are willing to miss.
We love what we do and have enjoyed providing our kits each month to our valuable customers. To find some balance we have decided to make some changes to our kit offerings after this February kit. We are still working on the details but we can share the following with you:

-       We plan to release a limited quantity of kits up to 6 times each year with a single purchase option, as a result we will no longer offer monthly subscriptions.
-       Kits prices are estimated to range from $30-$40, plus shipping.
-       We have plans to offer you more ideas with your kit purchase
-       Our kits will still feature the latest and greatest from the hottest manufacturers with a mix of papers, embellishments, and extras to keep your creativity blooming.
-       To be notified first of our kit offerings please go to our home page and subscribe to our newsletter. We will continue to advertise when we release kits, but newsletter subscribers will be the first to hear of our kit offerings.

Subscriptions will be cancelled after the February kits have been shipped.  Prepaid subscribers will be contacted to make arrangements for refund options.  If you have any questions that we have not addressed here, please contact us at info@colormedaisy.com.

We thank all of our wonderful customers for your patronage, and hope you will continue to choose Color Me Daisy when we launch our new kit format in April.

I am glad I had the opportunity to work with Michelle and the amazing kits she creates and the other talented design team members.

And in other news... I have a very exciting surprise to share VERY soon (and a giveaway is involved!!)
