Happy Monday!

Thank you all so much for the well wishes, I am FINALLY feeling a lot better (of course because the weekend is over). Mondays can be tough. Today's was mainly hot. Really hot. Like 117 degrees hot. The pool was an un-refreshing 88 degrees. I'm seriously considering buying a bunch of huge blocks of ice and throwing them in there.

One good thing about Monday? The new ScrapTiffany blog challenge is up. The challenge this week is to use a recycled item on your layout. Manufacturers are making it easy to use their packaging on layouts these days. Often the cards that flowers or brads are attached to have lines that are perfectly for journaling. Mine was a packaging of Sassafras flowers. And every Jenni Bowlin package of Bingo cards has a a card on the back that shows you what images are included in the pack. I always cut it up and use these mini cards too! So here is my recycled packaging layout. Be sure to go over to the ScrapTiffany blog and check out the other amazing layouts and Tiffany's awesome mini book. And if you take the challenge be sure to send a photo or scan to Tiffany HERE to be entered into the monthly drawing for a free kit.

I have one more quick share. I made a simple card from my Create My Keepsake July kit. Both the Making Memories cork letters and October Afternoon Cherry Hill sticker sheet come with TONS of letters. I won't run out any time soon! And the October Afternoon die cuts and stickers are perfect for cards.

Always on the weekend...

If one of us is going to get sick, I can guarantee you it will happen on the weekend. Last weekend it was Little Man, this weekend it is me. Seriously, a fever? I can't remember the last time I had a fever. When my head wasn't swimming I was working on some new layouts to send into the Bo Bunny Design team call. The call specified one layout, one card and one other item. I usually make more then the call requires so I can choose what to send in. These didn't make the cut, but I do really like them so I thought I would share here:

Keep 'em coming

I can't stop pulling out my July Create My Keepsake kit. It is like Mary Poppin's magic carpet bag. Every time I think I have used it up, I realize there is more. So here is another LO (this time 8.5x11 because I am starting to get low on cardtsock!) of Little Miss and her friend at one of those mall play areas. These two could seriously chase each other around and around for hours. Fortunately Little Miss's Little Friend has a mom who just happens to my friend so it all works out rather well :)

ScrapTiffany Challenge and Bella Blvd Release

The new ScrapTiffany challenge has been posted HERE. The challenge is to do a layout about Gratitude. Here is my take on the challenge.
Go HERE to check out the other amazing layouts. And remember if you take the challenge be sure to email a photo or scan to Tiffany and you will be entered into the monthly drawing for a free ScrapTiffany kit!!

In other news, it has been fun watching all the scrapbook manufacturers getting ready for the summer release at CHA at the end of the month. One of my favorites is Bella Blvd. Check out the new Bella Blvd release. I can't wait to get my hands on all of it! Here is a layout and card made from some previous Bella Blvd goodies.

CMK GDT layout

Here is yet another layout from the CMK July kit. All the little tags and goodies made the kit seem endless. Plus I just love October Afternoon which was featured this month. And without further ado here is my 4th layout...

New ScrapTiffany Challenge and CMK July kit creations

Lots going on today. Well, of course there was the normal monday drudgery of getting back into the grind. I just plain move slower on Monday and so everything takes longer than normal.

But there is more fun going on over at ScrapTiffany. Check out this week's challenge--create a layout about summer and what it means to you. Here is mine...

Go on over to see some close ups and what the rest of the fabulous DT created. Remember, if you participate in the challenge you may get your layout featured on the blog and you get entered into the drawing for a free kit!

This weekend was a long one. Little Miss attended two birthday parties. She has fun whether bouncing or sipping tea! And then on saturday night I went to a late night crop. Lots of fun, chatting and even a little work on Create My Keepsake's July kit. Here are 2 more layouts from there.

All that and a blog make over. I am whipped ;)

Create My Keepsake's July Kit

I received the CMK July kit in the mail yesterday. I was going to save it for a late night crop on saturday, but I just couldnt resist tearing it open! ;) So I decided to use it for CMK's Friday Formula this week.
Here is the sketch:
And here is my take using 100% goodies from the kit

Catching Up...

Happy belated 4th of July. Hope everyone had a safe and fun long holiday weekend. We certainly did. Some BBQ, playing in water and a last minute dash to a parking lot with 2 nearly sleeping kids to see some fireworks. Add a few stomach viruses and a broken dishwasher and that about sums up our weekend. Oh well, at least it's Monday, right?

This monday is the first ever ScrapTiffany challenge. The challenge is to scrap a layout about YOURSELF and use primarily pink and black. Here is a little sneak of my layout. Go on over there to see the rest and the other designers' fabulous takes on this challenge. OH, and if you take the challenge yourself, be sure to send a photo or scan HERE and you will be entered into the monthly drawing for a free ScrapTiffany kit!
Today was also the start date of Jessica Sprague's free class Photo Editing: Frame Ups and Special Effects. The first assignment was to use a transparent frame and word art on a photo. Here is mine. I love to play around with the digital stuff, but it is really nice to have someone walk you through it and Jessica's lessons are very clear and easy to follow.
Well, other than that we are just trying to stay cool. It was up around 111 today and promises to get to the 115 range by saturday so we are looking for fun indoor activities. Here are a few things that we did inside this weekend.

Fun with Hero Arts!

Ok, I know I say, "I totally love..." a lot but when I say that about Hero Arts I truly mean it :) A few months ago I was a commenting fool on their blog because I hang out there all the time and my name was drawn to win $100 worth of their products. And not $100 worth of old or discontinued stuff sitting around collecting dust, mind you. $100 of whatever I wanted from the recent catalogue! That alone made me their customer for life ;) But you have to go over to their blog today...One of my cards was chosen as an honorable mention for the last weekly challenge. I am thrilled beyond belief. If you check out their Flickr pool it is jam packed with seriously amazing pieces of art work. So I was totally blown away to see mine up there on the blog. Go check it out!
This is the card I made for the complementary color challenge (using red and green colors).
