Grafix and CardMaker Magazine Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Today the CardMaker Blog team is showcasing Grafix Arts supplies! We have a fun little hop planned with lots of inspiration. For my first card, I used Grafix clear acetate and embossed it with star embossing folder to create a fun window for a birthday card.
The acetate was sturdy enough to act as a window sandwiched in between the patterned paper and card base, but thin enough to take the embossing very well too!
For my second card, I used the Grafix vellum. I foiled the vellum to create an artistic window card. I also used the Grafix Shrink Plastic to create my own star embellishments.
I scribbled a gold permanent marker on the shrink plastic and then punched out the stars. You can see how big the stars were after punching them out. Then I followed the Shrink Plastic instructions and put them in the over for a few minutes and they shrunk and thickened into those fun gold stars you see on the card!

I loved all the fun Grafix products, but I think the shrink plastic was my absolute favorite!

Next up on the hop is the talented Heather Hoffman! I am sure she has some beautiful cards created to share with you so hop on over there! If you get lost along the way, check back in with the
CardMaker Blog where the full list of participants will be available!

Scrapbook Circle February Add On - Tell It!

If you're anything like me, you are addicted to the Scrapbook Circle add ons. I always tell myself I don't NEED the add ons, but I always decide to buy them anyway! They tend to have really great additional embellishments, alphas and more. This is the Tell It Add On and I LOVE it.

Between the gorgeous alphas and cork shapes, I knew I needed to make a layout featuring these goodies.

Combining the cork shapes and the Thickers I was able to create a fun mixed font title. I also used the washi strips as a bottom border on the photo and to adhere the photo on top.

And I love combining the add on with goodies from the kit, like I did with the phrase stickers layered over the cork shapes.

I can't recommend the Scrapbook Circle add ons enough! They always have such a fun assortment of the latest and most sought after goodies!

Valentine's and Love Themed Cards

Even though I think Valentine's Day is a cheesy made up holiday intended to sell more chocolate and flowers, I still love making Valentine and love themed cards. Honestly, you can give a love themed card all year round, right? So they are great to add to your stash! I have a couple of cards around the internet today with that thought in mind.

First up is this circle-shaped card made with the Queen and Co. Heart Throb kit. Check it out and how I made it on the Queen and Co. blog today!

Next up is a new shaker card made with the new Jillibean Soup Bowl of Dreams collection. There are tons of other love-themed cards on the Jillibean Soup blog too! Check them all out HERE.
Both could be used for Valentine's Day or anytime year round when you want to tell someone you love them!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope your day is filled with love!

Happy Birthday with Souper Celebration!

I've been busy making lots of Valentine's this month, but I wanted to share a birthday card that was up on the Jillibean Soup blog today. I pulled out an embossing folder for the base of this card and then added goodies from the Jillibean Souper Celebration collection.
I love the fun colors in this collection and the awesome new shaker elements too!

CardMaker Magazine Blog and Lawn Fawn Blog Hop

Hi everyone! If we've been friends for a while, you know by now that Lawn Fawn is one of my favorite companies ever. I love their stamps, dies, patterned papers, inks...really they can do no wrong in my book. ;) When I spend money on crafting supplies, it's a pretty good bet that something new from Lawn Fawn is in my cart. So imagine my excitement when I found out that the CardMaker Blog team would be doing a blog hop with Lawn Fawn! And for Valentine's Day? I LOVE making Valentines.

I used the Heart Swatch stamp and die and some 2nd and 3rd generation stamping to make the heart backgrounds.
I also used the adorable Love Letters stamp set for those sweet birds and fun phones. Curious about the 2nd and 3rd generation stamping technique? I made a video where I showed that and how I put my card together. Check it out here:

I also put made a little gift card holder using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Heart Envelope.
I tied tulle around the envelope to keep it closed and then layered the little tag on top.
A tulle bow always looks special doesn't it? The best part is that a gift card fits perfectly inside!

The next stop on the hop is the talented Heather Hoffman! If you get lost along the way, just head back to the CardMaker Blog where all the hop participants will be listed!
