Layered Foiled Embellishments

I don't know about you, but my parents don't go by Grandma and Grandpa so I can't buy premade themed embellishments or stamps for grandparent cards. Instead I make more versatile cards for Nona and Pop Pop in styles that I know they will appreciate. Foiling is always a fun effect!

But creating layered foiled embellishments is even more fun!

and either punches or dies.

I filmed a quick video to demonstrate how easy it is to layer two foiled shapes and what a fun effect this has for Grandparents cards or any cards!

Simon Says Stamp Weds Challenge: Let's Go Wild

I knew there was a reason I had this Flamingo stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn (other than the fact that it is adorable)! It worked perfectly for this Wednesday's Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Let's Go Wild.

I stamped the flamingos with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored them with copics. I created the sunset background with Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Mini Foam Blender. I die cut the waves with the Lawn Fawn Waves die from Simon Says Stamp Cardstock and created the darker shimmery edge with  Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. Of course everything was glued down with Therm O Web Memory Runner XL.

5 Ways to use NEW Therm O Web Mixed Media Sheets

Therm O web has several new products perfect for mixed media including the new iCraft Mixed Media Sheets (in Lightweight and Heavy) and the Mixed Media Adhesive. They are great for canvases and other mixed media projects, but I put them to work on cards!

I made a fun shaker card and then spruced it up with a gold foiled pleated trim.

The Mixed Media sheets are great because they can be torn, cut, sewn on and so much more!
For this card, I stamped and die cut, watercolored, inked and embossed on the Mixed Media Sheets! They add some nice texture and homemade feel to cards, layouts and other papercrafting projects!

Check out this video where I go through all the steps to create both of those cards!
