Therm O Web Foiled Shakers and Lasting Hearts Card Drive

I recently heard about the Lasting Hearts card drive on Jennifer McGuire's blog, and immediately knew that was the organization I wanted to donate handmade cards to. So many women have felt this loss and I wanted to be a part of showing some kindness and love to someone in their time of need.

I decided to create some foiled shaker cards using Therm O Web Deco Foil™ White Foam Adhesive, Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets and Zots™.

Scrapbook Circle One Item Wonder

Hi Everyone! Rebecca here with this month's OIW (One Item Wonder). This month I was tasked with focusing on the exclusive Scrapbook Circle Printable. The printable is a free download that is available with your monthly kit purchase. The printable is a pdf that is designed specifically to coordinate with each month's kit. This month's kit Only You features lots of love and heart designs and the printable perfectly matches! I challenged myself to come up with a layout that featured every piece of the printable and here is what I came up with.

The printable is perfect for creating a layout with color blocking because all the pieces perfectly match and go well with the rest of the kit.

I love the different sizes of the cards in the printable.rk SC close ups january2016 (2 of 7)
Some I cut out individually and others I leave together as one long piece.rk SC close ups january2016 (3 of 7)
I created a little video to show how I like to use the printable.

Have you been using the printable this month? Share on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page! We would love to see!

Scrapbook Circle Take 2

Hey everyone! I'm here with this month's Take 2 where we scrap lift either another Scrapbook Circle designer or one of our own layouts. I have been wanting to do a version of Scrapbook Circle owner, Lisa Andrews' layout from the January 2015 kit forever! I love the 4 quadrant design and the hearts, and I heard that she uses her 6x6 pads for this type of layout because then the hearts and the squares all perfectly coordinate. I think that is genius!

Here is my take on Lisa's fun layout.
rk sc feb2
Lisa told me that she cut her hearts by hand and used the cut out pieces of 6x6 paper as windows with her photos put behind. I decided to be lazy and use my manual die cut machine and a nested heart die. I cut the 6x6 patterned papers into 4x4 squares. Then I die cut the largest size hearts from different patterned papers. Finally I die cut my photos into the next largest size.

I machine stitched around the squares and the hearts have faux embossed stitching.

I layered some stickers and embellishments and used number stickers to number my squares, the first was my title and the next three clockwise around the page were my three favorite C's, camera, coffee and crafts (sometimes the order changes!).

Whether you hand cut windows like Lisa did or manual die cut layers like I did, I highly recommend this fun grid format layout of hearts! I will definitely be doing it again!

DIY with Zots and Deco Foil Resist

I love using Therm O Web adhesives when I am trying to freshen up my home with some new decor. Today I have two projects to share. The first is a new Valentines sign I hung on the front door. Anytime I am creating a wreath or wall hanging I bring out the Therm O Web Zots because they are thick and VERY sticky. They adhere everything from paper to plastic and fabric and more! I had some flowers I bought at a craft store and my Therm O Web 3D Zots.rk SC TOw Decor Jan (10 of 2)

I pulled the bloom off the stem and then cut the stem even closer to the flower. I stuck my 3D Zots right on the back. rk SC TOw Decor Jan (11 of 2)

Whether I was applying the flowers to the fringe or the wood, I knew they would stick and stay stuck! I cut some letters from Therm O Web Toner Sheets and foiled it with Gold Deco Foil. I used Medium Zots to adhere the letters and heart sequins right on the wood heart. I know everything is going to stay put AND I didnt have to burn my fingers on a glue gun lol!rk SC TOw Decor Jan-3

I also wanted to create a new piece for my office where I scrapbook. I used the Therm O Web Deco Foil Adhesive pen on letter stamps to stamp the word dream and I drew small groupings of dots too. I layered the Deco Foil on top and ran it through the laminator and achieved this fun look.rk SC TOw Decor Jan-1

I loved the gold lettering as is, but the best part is that if you watercolor over Deco Foil it acts a resist! So the watercolor does not stick to the Deco Foil and you are able to create this dreamy effect:

That was so much fun that I will definitely be using Deco Foil as a mask for cards soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Circle February Kit and Faux Gold Stitches

I am up on the Scrapbook Circle blog today sharing this layout:
And this video explaining how I created those faux gold stitches using Therm O Web's Deco Foil and Adhesive Toner Pen.

I love the Scrapbook Circle February kit Only You because it is Valentines-y but not overly cutsie. So much fun to design with! Check it out here!
