Using Up the Ends of a Kit with Scrapbook Circle

What do you do at the end of your kit when you have bits and pieces left? I like to create a collage-style layout pulling together all the little odds and ends I have left. Scrapbook Circle kits are great for these type of layouts because everything coordinates so perfectly! For this one I had two 12 x 12 pieces of patterned paper left. I cut one into a background using a Cut Shoppe cut file and my Cameo and layered that cut piece onto the other patterned paper. Then I used what I had left to fill in the spaces.

You can see the embellishments I had left and all the little stickers that work so well in this type of layout. I also recommend getting an add on, especially when a 6x6 pad is included. The smaller patterns are perfect for filling in small spaces of a 12 x 12 cut file and help add interest to a layout if you've run out of other patterned papers.

How do you use up the ends of your kits?

It is such a fun summery issue! I hope you will grab a cold drink and check it out!

Scrapbook Circle - Watercolor Your Crate Paper Floral Paper

Are you loving the July Scrapbook Circle kit You are My Favorite? The patterned papers are so cool! I especially loved the floral outline sheet from the Craft Market collection. I bought the paper Add On so I could have two sheets :) I kept one blank and the other I watercolored. I saw this technique on Jennifer McGuire's blog. All you need are Tim Holtz Distress inks, a craft mat and a water brush.

Take a Distress ink and rub a bit of it on the craft mat.

Then take your water brush or a regular brush dipped and water and add it to the ink until it turns watery.

Then use that watery ink to watercolor your paper.

The more water you add, the more watery your end result will be.

I went back over some flowers that were very light.

Instead of journaling I used the Shimelle cardstock stickers.
