EXTRA Embellishments with Scrapbook Circle

I tend to use a clean and simple style for the majority of my layouts. But Scrapbook Circle kits always have such a fun assortment of embellishments that sometimes it can be fun to pile them on! :)rk sc aug 8
It always amazes me how Scrapbook Circle kits combine collections and brands in a way that I would never think to and yet they all work together so well!rk sc aug-9
I bought the add on this month too, so I had lots of choices. From Pink Fresh Studio's "lovely" glitter foam stickers to Elle's Studio tags.rk sc aug-10
I even cut apart patterned paper and punched it into borders creating more embellishment opportunities.rk sc aug-11
I don't have a lot of patience for fussy cutting but those stars were begging to be cut out and popped up on dimensional adhesive!rk sc aug-12
The multicolored and patterned Fancy Pants alphas are so striking on black cardstock!rk sc aug-13

And the Scrapbook Circle exclusive wood veneer always adds the perfect touch!rk sc aug-14
When it comes to embellishments are you a less is more scrapper or do you prefer to use it all?

Simply Fall and Pumpkin Spice

Fall is right around the corner! And even if you live somewhere that doesn't enjoy the crisp nights and traditional fall weather, you can enjoy the scents and sights of the season. We are usually sweltering at the pumpkin patch, but we don't care! It is one of our favorite family traditions and so we go every year even of our weather is still unbearable! So imagine my joy when I saw Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice collection!
Fall colors and pumpkins galore! I created a mixed title with stickers, a die cut and a chipboard sticker.
I layered some of the Bits and Pieces over patterned paper and popped the die cuts up on dimensional adhesive for a fun look.
I cut that journaling spot out of a larger journaling card and added some chipbaord sticker leaves and Enamel Dots.
Finally, I created the look of ribbon by cutting a small strip of green gingham paper from the Simple Basics collection. I folded it into pleats and machine stitched up the middle with some coordinating thread.
For my second layout I focused on the chipboard frames.I used the largest and middle sized frames for my photos.
I used a 4x6 card as my title and added some Bits and Pieces. I love to pop them up with 3D adhesive.
I added some Enamel Dots and Bradz to the larger frames and journaled with a white gell pen around the outside.
Now I am exited for pumpkin muffins and caramel apples!

4627 Bradz

Scrapbook Circle Exclusive Cut Files & Watercolors

I love the exclusive Scrapbook Circle sun cut file for August! I enlarged it to stretch across the page and cut it out of white cardstock.

rk sc aug-3
Then I stitched along the rays with my sewing machine and added sloppy circular stitching on the sun itself.rk sc aug-4
Then I grabbed some yellow watercolor paints and scribbled some watercolor along the rays and sun.rk sc aug-5
I used the mini alphas to journal on the rays.rk sc aug-6
I added some swipes of watercolor on the background patterned paper too.rk sc aug-7
Using the cut file as an extra large embellishment was an easy way to add some watercolor to my layout! Are you loving the exclusive Scrapbook Circle cut files? Show us how you are using them on Facebook! We would love to see!

Simple Stories - Brand NEW We Are Family

I am incredibly happy to be sharing my first We Are Family layouts with you. This is an incredible collection combining a dark woodgrain with a bright rainbow of colors-- literally something for everyone! This versatile collection made it very easy for me to create family layouts. Here is the first:
The wood veneer in this collection is seriously the most awesome thing ever. And I love the die cuts in the shape and design of embroidery hoops.
I wanted to do a large water color title. So I brought out my watercolors and found matches to the colors in the collection.
Then I cut the word family (a Simple Stories cut file available on the Silhouette site) out of watercolor paper. I painted each letter a different color and then went over the whole thing with a water brush to blend the letters together.
For my second layout I focused on just two members of my family.
There are a ton of stitching elements in this collection so I machine stitched a border on my layout. I layered chipboard frames over all of my photos and I like that they seem to be hanging on a wall or in a photo gallery in this layout.
And seriously how awesome are the little wood veneer people?
So whether you are scrapbooking babies to grandparents and everyone in between, you will find this to be an incredibly versatile collection with so many elements to add the perfect little details to your projects!

Scrapbook Circle August Mood Board

This month's mood board is summer and fun. It features watercolors, triangles, anchors, florals, glitter and more!

Here is my take on this fabulous mood board:

rk sc aug 1

I painted watercolor circles just like those around the quote. I also used the PinkFresh Studio glitter foam phrases to represent the script quote. The gold sequin heart was a perfect representation of the glitter pillow.

I fussy cut some flowers out of the Fancy Pants patterned paper to mimic the floral bouquet.

These acetate triangles were perfect for the multicolored pattern made up from triangles. You can see I also tucked a bit of the Fancy Pants anchor paper for the anchor flip flops.

I also plenty of blue and white pieces like the splash chipboard sticker to represent the blue and white tote.
