Imaginisce Monster Mash Release!

Can I tell you how excited I am for Halloween this year? Halloween is usually the first night we have decent weather. We always trick or treat with friends and this year we are planning a family costume! I am so excited! So, I was super thrilled to work with the new Imaginisce Monster Mash.  Check out the Imaginisce Blog for lots of examples using this fun new line. I made a trick or treat layout.
The title is actually ONE die cut, which I cut into three pieces.
I decorated the die cuts and stacked sticker with i Rock gems:
My second project is a Halloween advent calendar.
I cut the calendar shape with my Cameo. Then flipped half of the date squares over, added numbers and removable Them O Web Zots to the back and i Rock bling to the front. The little stacked pumpkin sticker represents the 31st:
I added lots of i Rock bling to the title too:
Now I am even more excited! I can NOT wait for Halloween!

Simple Stories Take a Hike

Simple Stories Take a Hike was one of my favorite collections from CHA. Now those of you that know me just raised your eyebrows? YOU? A hiking collection? It is true. I am not that into hiking or camping. My idea of outdoors happiness is laying on a beach ;) BUT this collection is way more versatile than just hiking or camping. Check out this layout I have on the Simple Stories blog today:
Little Man had begged us for a butterfly habitat. I was surprised at how willing the kids were to have the butterflies crawl on them before they flew away and how gently they removed them from the habitat.
I seriously love every bit of this collection. It is perfect for general outdoor themes, boy pages and of course hiking and camping! ;) I loved the little pockets with this line and used one to tuck my journaling into:
And who wouldn't love yellow chevron and deep dark woodgrain? I also made a little bon voyage type of card which shows this collection is great for general travel themes too:
Aren't all the polka dots just so playful and fun?
If you haven't already, go check out this fabulous collection. They have it Scrapbook.com right HERE.

scrapkit studio Admit One mini album

This month I had the pleasure of working with the August scrapkit studio chipboard mini album kit as a guest designer. If you aren't yet familiar with scrapkit studio or their amazing kits, you must check out their gorgeous shop right away! You can also stop be the scrapkit studio blog. The August kit I worked with was made with the Simple Stories Summer Fresh line. I don't make a ton of mini albums. Want to know why? I cant stand cutting paper to cover mini album pages. Silly, I know, but true. The best part about scrapkit studio kits is that everything is pre-cut and ready for you to put together--easy peasy! BUT that doesn't mean you have to make the same album as the instructions or sample. Of course you can and you would have a beautiful completed album done in no time at all, but if you like to play around and make things your own way, you can do that too! For example, while the kit and instructions have the binder rings on the left side like a typical book orientation, I decided to rotate mine and give it a flip book look:
Since I saved so much time using scrapkit studio's pre cut pages and paper to cover those pages, I added my own touches. For example, I love machine sewing, so I machine stitched on every pre cut page before I even adhered them to the chipboard:
And once I adhered everything and wanted more stitching, I used a white gel pen to outline the border sticker here:
The kit included entire sheets of Simple Stories stickers, bingo cards and journaling squares to choose what fit on my pages.
As well as 2 pockets which were punched with holes to match the rest of the album.
Rather than adhere those pockets to pages, which would look great too, I chose to keep them as separate pages. I even liked the sideways orientation! I stuck some tickets and memorabilia from our summer in one and was able to cut up the Simple Stories journaling page to add lots of typewritten journaling in the other.
Just like in the example and instructions, I used lots of 3D adhesive for my stickers. Of course my favorite is Therm O WEb 3D Adhesive Zots.
I ended my summer book with the first day of school :)
And even decorated the back cover...
All in several hours! I am telling you--  having the pre-cut pages makes all the difference in the world--it is a HUGE time saver! So go check out scrapkit studio if you're looking for a summer book kit this is an awesome one! And while your there check out all the fabulous kits for sale!

Scrapbook Circle True Stories

The main Scrapbook Circle August Kit True Stories sold out, but there are a few add ons left HERE. My tip on using enlargements to stretch your kit (or supplies) is here. I actually made 2 layouts with enlargements this month. This one:
and this one:
But today, my One Item Wonder layout is up on the Scrapbook Circle blog. My item to feature this month was the ruffled blossom handmade by Tessa from Precocious Paper. The American Crafts patterned paper looked like a big sun. So I stitched around the inner circles and the blossom lies right at the center.
I added a Mind's Eye brad and a bit of twine to the center of my blossom but they are gorgeous just as is too!
Hope you're having a great week!

ScrapbookSteals Blog Hop and Giveaway!

I was SUPER excited to be invited to participate in the ScrapbookSteals blog hop this month, but even more so when I found out what the deal was.....today you can get Studio Calico Mister Huey's at ScrapbookSteals.com. You probably all know how much I LOOOOOOVE Mister Huey's. I love the opaque quality and the colors????FABULOUS. Here is what I created using Studio Calico's Mister Huey's Water Cooler:
I made some splatters with the Mister Huey's...
I also sprayed the Mister Huey's Water Cooler directly on some wood veneer. Do you love the aged look it creates?
So, Mister Huey's is perfect for paper (Obviously!) and wood veneer. But how about canvas and trim? I made a mask with a piece of 12x12 paper (cutting out the hexagon shapes with my Cameo) and adhered it to a canvas bag with removable Therm O Web adhesive Zots:
I sprayed all over with Mister Huey's Water Cooler...
After removing the mask I felt like it needed another color so I sprayed some Maya Road rose trim with Mister Huey's Taxi and adhered it to the top:
and VOILA I have a cute and unique re-usable shopping bag!

If you weren't already a big fan of Mister Huey's I hope I've at least shown how versatile it can be!

So here's the deal. If you haven't started at the ScrapbookSteals.com blog, run back there right now. They always have great scrapbooking supplies at great prices. Imaginisce and Cheery Lynn Blog Hop and LOTS more...

All this week Imaginisce and Cheery Lynn have teamed up for a super fun blog hop. If you visit the Imaginisce blog and Cheery Lynn blog all week long and leave comments you will be in the running for a Makin' Waves collection! The Imaginisce team was given several fun Cheery Lynn dies to work with and using the Imaginisce Hello Cupcake collection I came up with this layout:
Head on over to Imaginisce to see how I used the Imaginisce cordless glue gun and some more fun examples using those Cheery Lynn dies!

Other than that, this has been a long, tiring week. We have been trying to get back into the swing of things with the kids back in school and me back at work.
Which wouldn't be that bad, except of course the weather has been UNBEARABLE. 116 every day and the poor kids have to eat lunch outside :( We all come home hot and tired and cranky. And everyone is looking forward to the weekend.
I can't wait to get back into my office. I have some fun things to play with. I got the new Scrapbook.com kit Love Life and it is SO right up my alley--colorful and happy. I made this...
and this... (I ♥ the K&Co washi from the Smash collection!!)
and I made this card...
Everything except the fabric bow on the card is from the kit. And you can see how I cut the fabric bow using Therm O Web HeatnBond and my Cameo on this Therm O Web post.
I have some Core'dinations coming my way too!!! Because CHECK this out! I had such a great time at the virtual Core'dinations crop and one of my favorite layouts from that weekend was...
And finally, just wanted to thank you for sticking with me even though I havent been visiting a lot of blogs this week or blogging myself. BUT if you come back tomorrow it will be worth your while. I have a little giveaway for tomorrow--I promise you will love it!

August is Here!

Now how did that happen? August is here and our summer is 99.999% over :( But the good news is we will get back on a routine, which I think we all crave AND Fall is the next season on its way. Plus the start of August means a new Scrapbook Circle kit is LIVE. And it is a super fun one! It is called true stories and has lots of American Crafts Shoreline, My Mind's Eye brads, Simple Stories Summer Fresh and Studio Calico patterned papers.
That gorgeous yellow flower is handmade by Tessa, fellow Design Team member and owner of Precocious Paper. You will see how I used it later this month since I was assigned to use it for my One Item Wonder. For today, though I am going to share this layout:
I punched a photo into a circle shape and put it inside the sun of the Studio Calico patterned paper. Of course I had to stitch around it too. Love the American Crafts die cuts and the Minds Eye brads--my favorite. I was never big into brads until My Mind's Eye started rocking them.
Did I mention The Twinery twine? You all know how much I love that already ;)  That little yellow tag was misted with Studio Calico Mister Huey's in the new Buttercup color. The Take Note tag was from the UPC strip at the bottom of the Studio Calico paper. The subway art piece is from Simple Stories.
You will see lots more from this kit. Go check out the main kit HERE. And the add on HERE. Check out the Scrapbook Circle blog all month for challenges and ideas for using this fabulous kit.

Also on the first of the month, the new Imaginisce challenge is posted. This month's challenge is to use this photo as inspiration
