Best Kit EVER, Imaginisce Sketch and the Faux Hawk

Yipes, here we are in February. My grand plans of doing Valentine's Day up big so far is going to result in store bought Valentine's for the kids classes ;) My Little Guy turns 5 this month and again, anything that I was going to make is now going to be store bought. Sigh. Someday I will get it all together ;) Speaking of the little dude, I had to turn in his kindergarten registration information. I may or may not be handling that pretty well. Yup, you guessed it--not handling it at all. In news that was easier to handle, he finally sat for a real hair cut! We buzz it in the summer but in the winter I let it grow and he always refused to get a professional cut. So this was the crazy before:

and here is the super cute after:

Love this kid. On a completely different note, I am also in LOVE with February's Scrapbook Circle kit called Remember This. I have been madly creating with it trying to get lots done early in the month because most of the design team is just getting their kit. Why? Because it includes LOTS of new goodies including My Mind's Eye Be Amazing papers and buttons. Combined with October Afternoon, Elle's Studio, Crate Paper and the cutest chevron print ever from Echo Park's A Boy's Life and this kit is another MUST HAVE. I had to grab an Add On and I think they already sold out twice! Here is the first layout I made:
The alphas are from my stash, but everything else is from the kit and add on! I did a lot of stitching for the kit and in this layout I stitched three borders (around the My Mind's Eye blue patterned paper, around the Kraft paper and around the yellow diagonal striped Crate Paper.
And the glitter paper is awesome! It is a little thicker than your average cardstock, but I will still able to punch out sunbursts and the glitter has stayed ON the paper and not everywhere else!
I have a feeling the kit (like the add on) will sell out so if you want one run over to Scrapbook Circle now!
In other news, the Imaginisce monthly challenge was posted and it is a sketch created by the fabulously talented Diana Fisher. Take a look at this fun sketch:
And here is what I created based on the sketch:
I used the Sole Sisters line and lots of Imaginisce goodies like an i top brad and some layered flowers:
You can see all the details of the contest and the other designers takes on the sketch HERE.
Ok, the one Valentine's project I got done was a wreath, it is up on the Therm O Web blog HERE. I sprayed these Dollar Store flowers with the brand new Therm O Web Glitter Dust which will be available in Mid March--this stuff is awesome, stays put, has a clear adhesive so you only see a nice dusting of glitter:
Ok, so now that I am done with the longest blog post in history lol, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!
♥ Rebecca
