Halloween Eve

We have been busy with pre Halloween celebrations. Little Miss had a field trip to a local farm/pumpkin patch on friday. Little Man had his preschool Halloween parade/trick or treat.

Today we went to our local patch. This was the first year we went on their hayride on the back of their tractor pull. It is so fun to be able to do stuff like that now that they are both a little older.

This past week at ScrapTiffany we were also celebrating Halloween. Here is my layout--a 2 page spread!! I know shocking--I never do those anymore, but I had all these pictures left over from last year's Halloween.
I used the Echo Park Halloween line (really just some stickers and strips of patterned paper on Bazzill Kraft cardstock).
I also blogged a Halloween project over at the Just Imagine Blog

I used the 906 Triangles punch for this treat bag just like I did for my last Halloween layout. You can see more details and explanation on the Just Imagine Blog. Speaking of the 906 punch, my winner from the post below is Angi@Cokiepop---congrats Angi--your punch is on it's way to you!

That's it for now, but I will be back soon with some pumpkin patch photos. I hope to get some good trick or treating ones this year too. Hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween!

Just Imagine Blog Hop!

Hi all you hoppers!! Welcome to the first ever Just Imagine Crafts Blog Hop. If you just stopped by my blog randomly (thanks for doing so!!) please start the hop at the Just Imagine Crafts blog. If you are just coming from Stephanie's blog on your way through the hop, then...WELCOME! As you know each of the Just Imagine designers is showing off Fall or Halloween projects using the Kreaxions punches and Circle Cutter. And we are each doing a giveaway!! But before I get to the giveaway, let me show you my layout.

For this layout I started out using the Kreaxions Circle cutter to cut all the circles from various patterned papers (all from Echo Park). Then I used Kreaxions 906 Triangle punch with the A Insert to create the border at the bottom of the polka dot paper. The cool thing about the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punches is that they each come with 3 sets of inserts that can change the look of the punch and include the ability to punch without the inserts giving you a total of FOUR different looks with ONE punch!
After punching the border, I used the corner punch Insert B to put corner punches on the journaling card.
Don't the punched out corners kind of look like bats on this layout!? You could also punch those corners into a photo matte and slip the photo into the punched out spaces. And last, but not least, I took all the guides off and used the punch as is to "bite" corners out of the witch shoe embellishment.
Are you convinced that these are versatile punches?? Since I obviously love all the different looks you can get from punch 906 I thought it would be fun to give one away here. So leave me a comment and you will be entered into a drawing to win one! Follow my blog for an additional entry :) [Prizes only shipped to US or Canada--sorry!!]
Now hop on over to Melissa's blog to see some more inspiration for using Kreaxions punches and be sure to leave comments on ALL the designers blogs as well as the Just Imagine Crafts blog for a chance at the GRAND PRIZE! You have until 6pm PST on Sunday to leave all your comments and the winners will be announced on the Just Imagine Crafts blog soon thereafter. Happy Weekend!

Frazzled Friday

Aaack! I cant believe it has already been a FULL week since I posted!! Between Fall Break and Early Release days all this week I have had very limited "me" time :) And all that additional time has been spent crafting like a mad woman for the craft fair at Little Man's school tomorrow. I will share some of the things I have been working on for that, but first I want to share my ScrapTiffany layout for this week.

The ScrapTiffany challenge for the week is to use banners/pennants. I know--a no brainer right?? I've heard some people resistant to this trend, but for the most part they are pretty rampant right now. Personally I love them. Especially for titles and in layouts with kids--they are just so playful and fun. So here is my banners layout:

You can see my main banner is the title across the top of the page. I used small triangles cut apart from a canvas star (made by Canvas Corp) and wood tags. The wood tags were stamped with a wood grain stamp by Hero Arts. The banner was strung on Divine Twine--sigh--another LOVE of mine :)

then I cut a banner straight from a Cosmo Cricket patterned paper. I am on a buying hiatus until my LSS yard sale at the end of the month, BUT when I saw Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness line in person I had to have some. Clouds, banners, butterflies, kite strings--seriously this line might has well been made especially for me ;)
Do you love the wood grain background? It is a Core'dinations cardstock, that I picked up the same day as the Togetherness line and I MUST have more!!
Oh my gosh do you love the Togetherness strips? How about the "Let's Get Together. Yah Yah Yah."? Can I  tell you how many times I watched the Hailey Mills movie The Parent Trap (I refuse to see the remake!)?? About 1 billion times! Not sure what it was, but the songs were so fun and the movie made me laugh--over and over again!
OK, so that is banners. Wanna see a few of the things I have been making for the Craft Fair? I made a few Halloween Decorations:

I also made some altered onesies, card sets and wreathes. Yes, Mom I even made wreathes!! My Mom is an expert wreath maker--seriously hers are AMAZING. Mine are....adequate lol. I'll try and get some pictures taken today.
Oh, can I share some awesomely exciting good news!? I got a call yesterday that I will be designing for a local scrapbook store in my area called the Scrapbook Barn!!!
I am so super excited!! We have the first Design team meeting on Monday and I cant wait!

Ok, I guess that is enough for today, but dont forget to come back tomorrow for the Just Imagine Blog Hop!! Remember there will be prizes given away on EACH designer's blog AND a grand prize given away at the Just Imagine blog WOOO HOOO! See ya then!

Fantabulous Friday

Ok, it may not really be a word, but it sums it up for me right now. The house is quiet. Little Man is enjoying a visit from firefighters with a tour of a firetruck at school. Scott and Little Miss are out for a day on the town. And I am getting things done! I have a ton of stuff to put together before the Craft Fair at Little Man's school next saturday, but before I do that I need to hit the post office BECAUSE....I got a card requested for publication in the upcoming Scrapbook Trends special edition Create: Quick and Easy Idea Book! Seriously!! You could not imagine my surprise when I received the email! I am over the moon excited!

Add to that, the fact that I will be staying on for another term at 3 Scrappy Boys and I am one happy camper. We have two new design team members joining the team and 4 alumni returning. I am so thrilled to be continuing on because I love Heather's kits so much. They always have the perfect mix of paper, embellies and special goodies and I use them to the very last scrap--LOVE that! Check out the DT announcement HERE.

Also this week the ScrapTiffany Challenge was to scrap scenery. We haven't traveled in a LONG time, but the scenery right around me is pretty incredible. I am in awe of the clouds in Arizona. I've been to a lot of different places and I've never seen such big, puffy, white clouds on such a blue sky before. Whenever we go out as a family and I am not driving I take the camera and take pictures of the clouds. When I am driving alone I always wish I had the camera to pull over and take some shots. I would love to do a whole series of pictures of clouds. There is something so relaxing and daydreamy about them. Anyway, here is my layout:
The patterned paper is an oldie from American Crafts. I love those clouds so much I bought a stack of this when it was on sale at Michaels. The trim is the new Maya Road large rose trim which I love because it is so easy to cut down to individual flowers or in half for the border and it stays together.
The other goodies like the pinwheels, large cloud sticker and pink scallop border are Echo Park from the Sweet Summertime line. I think I need to get another set of that collection because I use it on EVERYTHING!
Oh and before I go...I have a couple of dates to share. First, Next Saturday (October 23rd) Just Imagine Crafts is having their first blog hop! All the designers have fun Halloween and Fall projects planned AND each designer will be doing a giveaway in ADDITION to the Just Imagine blog giveaway. So please remember to stop by for your chance to win on my blog :)

Secondly, ScrapTiffany is also having a blog hop the on November 8th and 9th. Lots of seasonal and holiday projects are planned and most of the designers do giveaways--I know I will be doing one :)
And that is enough blathering from me for one day. I will be back to show you some of the cute barrettes I am making for the craft fair. It is so nice to be using up a bunch of supplies I had been hoarding---I KNEW I would need them at some point lol!! Have a great weekend :)

Life is Good

Anyone else use Google Chrome as their browser? Have you had any problems with Blogger lately? I can't get Blogger to load photos when I use Google Chrome since last Friday! So I am on Internet Explorer which I am not too pleased about. BUT....Life is still good :) Getting outside has helped our outlook A LOT.
Add to that a Fall Break for Little Miss--she has the next 3 days off AND a 4 day weekend for Scott. While Little Man is at school tomorrow, Little Miss and I have a play date planned. Then on Thursday I am taking her to a Mom and Me Scrapbook class while the boys do something they like to do--it will probably involve a trip to Home Depot. Friday, Scott is taking her out for some one on one time, which means I will do the gym and get to scrap :) And then we still have all weekend!

On another Life is Good note, I used some Echo Park Life is Good as well as some of the Walk in the Park collection for this layout:

I didn't take poetic license, I promise they really do call each other their best friend :)
I love the little American Crafts chipboard fence and bird. The corrugated ampersand is Jillibean Soup and the gingham ribbon was one of my scores at the Bazzill warehouse sale.
And how about a quick Halloween card (also from Echo Park):

Have a great night!

Wooooosh...

there goes the weekend ;) At least the weather has cooled down considerably. We still made it to 100 today BUT the mornings are beautiful. Sometimes even under 70!!. So this weekend we broke out the bikes

and took the kids to the local tot lots. It is amazing how getting out some energy makes for a more pleasant weekend. Here is Little Miss on the monkey bars:

And I got to scrapbook the night away on Saturday and completed 2 1/2 layouts. One is for the ScrapTiffany challenge this week which is to scrap Scenery. I have a little peek of that...

You can come back on Friday to see the whole thing ;)
Last week's challenge was a sketch challenge and the sketch was created by talented Keely Yowler. Here is Keely's sketch:

and here is my take on it:
I think that will do it for today. I have about a zillion photos to edit from the weekend and I really want to go watch Fringe, but I'll be back sooner than later this time :) Have a great week :)

Great Way to Start the Week!

Did you all have a great World Card Making Day and weekend? I did not really have lots of card making time. Lots of catch up from the week, some time in the pool and at the gym, a bit of football watching. It even cooled down enough to play outside in the backyard after dinner. But I didnt want to miss the chance to win a big ole prize from American Crafts so I put together a couple of quickie birthday cards. I used some American Crafts patterned paper, Remarks stickers, ribbon and Thickers:

But the best part of today?? I got some awesome news from the Upsy Daisy Blog...
Holy macaroni!! I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this amazing team! And on that note, Monday is over and we are only 4 days away from another weekend! Oh, before I go, I'll just share a quick shot I got this weekend while we were out for dinner :)

Fabulously Fun Friday

The ScrapTiffany challenge this week was to use up scraps. Since I had just done a ton of projects from the 3 Scrappy Boys September add on kit, all I had left were scraps.

I couldn't part with them though because even scraps of Crate Paper's Restoration line are worth saving. So I decided to piece everything I had left together and stitch it down on some Kraft cardstock and this is what I came up with:

All the paper except for the Kraft base is a scrap leftover from previous projects! Yay! I love using up scraps rather than finding them piling up in the playroom lol!
I loved using scraps so much that I did it again on this layout. American Crafts is another company whose scraps I hoard ;) The fabric paper and the chikadees were piled in with my full sheets of AC paper.

Before I go I have to share some fun news. I got an email yesterday requesting a layout I submitted for publication in Scrapbook Trends magazine!! You could've knocked me over with a feather I was so shocked. My first thought was WAHOOOO. My second thought was uhoh, Little Miss is going to be SO jealous because the layout is of Little Man not her!! In any case, the layout will be in the March 2011 Showcase section. We are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate :) Thanks Scrapbook Trends, you've made this one FABULOUSLY FUN Friday!!
