Slice of Heaven

So my little slice of heaven right now is Dreyer's Slow Churned Vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips (half the fat of regular ice cream!) and Mrs. Richardson's caramel sauce. YEEEESSS...I know that indulging in this particular slice of heaven is not going to propel me to my pre-pregnancy weight. Yeeeesssss, I know my youngest is now 15 months old and I probably should ALREADY be at my pre-pregnancy weight. YEEEEESSSSSS, I know there are all kinds of modified and hydrogenated weird things in ice cream and it is one of the worst things for you. But, I am telling you, after a long day, there is NOTHING in this world that is quite as calming, gratifying and downright indulgent as this treat.

Ok, it is true that I am a caramel junkie. A full caramel addict. I make no bones about it---cover brussel sprouts with caramel and I would eat them until the cows come home. I was singlehandedly becoming Starbucks support system during this economic downturn and period of raising gas prices by purchasing iced venti caramel machiatos by the gross. My three year old still can't pronounce her name properly, but you bet your butt she knows how to say "Iced Venti Caramel Machiato." But with Starbucks raising the prices of their beverages (read "liquid crack") I was in the market for a new addiction.

So, my teeth feel a teeny bit like they may rot out of my head after my icream/caramel sauce concoction. I am telling you, it is totally worth it.

  1. How about a bottled Starbucks caramel frappuccino blended with ice cream? Yummy! When I was a kid I thought caramel was actually a vegetable, or an herb or something. Terrific pics of the kids...Great blog Rebecca! I'll check in regularly. Reed
